Bots have officially returned to Verified Experiences in Battlefield 6, two weeks after they were removed in an effort to help improve the overall quality of matches. Battlefield 6 players can now jump into Verified Experiences, which include core modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, with bots enabled. However, there are some caveats, such as the inability to completely fill a server with bots, which has left the community disappointed with the update.

Its launch may have been the biggest in Battlefield history, blasting to the top of sales charts and soaring through more than 700,000 concurrent players on Steam, but Battlefield 6 hasn't been without its issues. As with most live-service titles, there will forever be new updates focused on balance adjustments and bug fixes, but Battlefield Portal adds a whole new set of challenges for DICE to combat. Due to the incredibly slow progression at launch, fans quickly began creating bot farms in Battlefield 6 in order to gain huge amounts of XP. DICE quickly shut this down by nerfing XP received from bots and removing them from Verified Experiences altogether, but fans haven't been happy about the changes.

Bots Are Back in Battlefield 6 Verified Experiences

Two weeks after their removal, bots have officially returned to Verified Experiences in Battlefield 6. However, their return does come with a few caveats. In a new post on Twitter, DICE states that each game mode can support up to 12 bots, meaning a lobby cannot be entirely filled with just bots. If bot backfill is enabled, matches require 8 players to start, and there will be up to 6 bots on each team. If disabled, matches will require 20 players to start. XP also works similarly to Battlefield 6's new Casual Breakthrough mode, as bots will grant reduced XP, while player XP remains at 100%. Player stats will not be affected if bots are enabled (although DICE says this isn't currently working as intended), and all challenges remain completable.

The return of bots to Verified Battlefield 6 Portal servers doesn't appear to have gone down well with the community, as many say the changes are "completely out of touch." Others also pointed out how advertising for Portal prior to the game's release stated that there would be full progression, but this is no longer the case. "At this point, just stop trying if you don't want to provide what the crowd asked for. Players won't settle [for] anything less than full bot XP," one Reddit user said. "Nobody wants to wait for 15/39 other players either."

Many fans have also been annoyed with official multiplayer servers being filled with bots, but DICE says that it is necessary to cut down on long wait times. In a new statement on Twitter, producer David Sirland noted that bots are not permanent fixtures in Battlefield 6 lobbies and are merely used to quickly fill matches and prevent players from waiting at the menu. This appears to be an issue for players in regions with low population, but Sirland says players simply need to stick with the bots instead of backing out, as they will eventually be replaced with real players.
