A Battlefield 6 player's attempt to rejoin the fight in the game's battle royale mode took an unexpected turn, thanks to a precision strike from a UAV. The massively hyped launch of the newest shooter from EA and Battlefield Studios has seen overwhelming success, with millions of players flocking to the newest Battlefield game. Battlefield 6 needed just three days after its release to rack up a staggering 7 million units sold, standing as the biggest launch in the series' more than twenty-year-long history. Now, one of the new game's game modes has been a hit with fans.
The popularity of battle royales in the modern gaming world naturally led Battlefield to introduce a battle royale mode of its own. Battlefield 6 added Battlefield: RedSec within a couple weeks of its launch, with the battle royale mode even being made free for fans who don't own the full game of Battlefield 6. The battle royale saw so many players eager to dive into the shooter that Battlefield 6 would experience login queues of more than 50,000 players following its October 28 release. A Battlefield fan is now showing off an unlikely kill within the battle royale mode.
Battlefield 6 Finally Reveals Free-to-Play Battle Royale Mode
After months of rumors, Battlefield 6 publisher EA finally unveils the name and release date for the shooter's free-to-play Battle Royale mode.
Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Redeploy Sees Unexpected Kill
Reddit user Aromatic_Bag7061 showed off their unexpected death on a redeploy during a battle royale match within Battlefield 6. The attached video shows the player dropping out of the helicopter for their "Second Chance" redeploy, though the player isn't even able to make it to the ground to properly begin their redeployment. The unexpected kill comes when an unmanned aerial vehicle within Battlefield 6 just happens to collide directly with the player, immediately dropping the player's parachute and securing the surprise kill. Battlefield 6 even properly credits the unintended aerial kill to another player within the match.
The wild Battlefield 6 kill saw plenty of amused reactions from other players and fans within the post's comments. Many mocked the absurdity of the UAV managing to snipe the player out of the sky, with one referring to the UAV as "spawncamping" while others joked that it was a "skill issue" from the player getting hit by the jet. The kill is made even more ridiculous by the primary function of UAVs in Battlefield 6, typically being used within the games for their radar and information.
Battlefield 6's early success will come with stiff competition as the shooter looks to maintain its momentum. One of Battlefield's biggest competitors is gearing up for its newest big release next week, with Treyarch, Raven Software, and Activision rolling out Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 14. Another new shooter has also started to crack into Battlefield's playerbase, with the recently-released ARC Raiders seeing significant popularity following its debut. Battlefield 6's new battle royale mode will look to help the game appeal to even more players.
