Battlefield 6 players are sharing their frustrations about one of the game's Support challenges, which is encouraging them to deliberately make life harder for their teammates to complete it. The annoyance stems from the fact that players need to block their teammates' vision with smoke grenades in order to complete this particular Battlefield 6 challenge.
Although some players remain frustrated about these problems with challenges, it hasn't stopped Battlefield 6 from being a massive success. Following Battlefield 2042, the series desperately needed a return to form, and despite the noise, it seems to be exactly what EA and Battlefield Studios have delivered. The game sold millions of copies within days and put up massive player counts across all platforms.
Battlefield 6's Most Annoying Exploit is Finally Being Fixed
A fix is finally coming for Battlefield 6's most annoying exploit.
Battlefield 6 Support Challenges Are Forcing Players To Make Teammates' Lives Harder
Over on Reddit, user Fehzi highlighted that "I have to literally grief my team" to complete the third tier of Battlefield 6 Support challenges. The challenge in question tasks players to "get smoke assists as support," which involves teammates getting kills through their smoke grenade. While some will naturally get this while playing as Support over time, those who want to complete the challenge as quickly as possible are motivated to lob smokes wherever their teammates are standing in the hope they manage to get a kill. But as Fehzi points out, this is "probably preventing them from getting the kill in the first place."
Other players pointed out in the thread that the real problem is with how the challenge works. It's easy to assume that smoke assists qualify if a player gets a kill through a distant smoke, which would be simple to do in Battlefield 6 modes like Breakthrough, where enemies can pretty much only come from one direction. However, this challenge requires the teammate to stand and get the kill from inside the smoke with severely impaired vision, and with enough players trying to complete it, this has the potential to completely ruin lobbies.
But whether Battlefield Studios will tackle this in a future patch remains to be seen, with its focus elsewhere. One recent Battlefield 6 update already overhauled some challenges, with class-specific ones already receiving some important changes. But the developer has already shown a willingness to adapt according to community consensus, so anything is possible if the overwhelming majority wants to see a change with this particular Battlefield 6 challenge.
