Analysts have looked at Battlefield 6's stats thus far, and have shared some predictions about how well it will sell during its first week. While the predicted stats are impressive, if accurate, EA will have to go a long way to meet its goal of achieving 100 million players in Battlefield 6.

Battlefield 6’s hectic Escalation game mode has potential

Thus far, Battlefield 6 has been off to a pretty solid start. Players absolutely swarmed the beta as soon as it was made available, with half a million players joining the Battlefield 6 public beta on Steam on the first day it was accessible. The beta achieved the most players in Battlefield series history, with the team also revealing that over 420 million matches had been played by August 21.

As the Battlefield 6 open beta enters its truly 'open' phase, EA's first-person shooter sets a new series record by a significant margin.

Analysts Predict Battlefield 6 Sales

Analysts looking at Battlefield 6 have nailed down some estimates regarding how many players will be picking up the game by day one. Analyst group Ampere (via The Game Business) has estimated that 1.7 million pre-orders have already been placed for the game on Steam, while it predicts that five million copies will be sold within the first week of the game's launch. The analyst group also estimated that around 22 million people played Battlefield 6's beta, so less than a quarter are predicted to pick up the game at launch.

Battlefield 6 will have to grow dramatically to reach its 100 million player goal, but it's not completely out of the question. Despite the successful beta, many gamers have chosen not to pre-order titles or even play them at launch, as they wait to see what critics and the gaming community think of a game before trying it. With FPS competitor Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 releasing a month after Battlefield 6, some players may wait even longer to see which title they want to put their time into. During and following this period, the player count could rise considerably.

Battlefield 6 Gameplay Leak Reveals Weapon Feature Offering 'Huge Tactical Advantage'

With that said, there are also some elements that could work against Battlefield 6 achieving its goals. Unlike Call of Duty, Battlefield 6 won't be available on Game Pass, instead favoring the EA Play Pass for day one access, which is notably only available on PC. Battlefield 6 also won't be available on last-gen consoles, namely PS4 and Xbox One, which could reduce its early player counts. Even if Battlefield 6 were to include last-gen consoles, though, the number could still be out of reach. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was a huge success for Activision, but the series as a whole only saw 22 million players in 2023, and by 2025, 20.6 million players. Only time will tell if Battlefield 6 can go far beyond CoD's numbers to make good on its goal.
