Even though Battlefield 6 has largely moved away from class weapon restrictions, the Recon class is still incredibly important in multiplayer matches. Some of the best Recon gear in Battlefield 6 is locked behind class challenges, however, so you'll want to complete those as soon as possible.

Each of the four classes in Battlefield 6 has a series of challenges associated with it. These give cosmetic rewards like skins and player card backgrounds, but they're also the only way to unlock incredibly important gadgets and gear. The Recon class can only use C4 after completing a specific challenge, for example. Here's how to complete every Recon class challenge in Battlefield 6.

Despite unhappy feedback from franchise fans, the developers of Battlefield 6 seem to be doubling down on class weapon restrictions in the game.

Recon Challenges

There are three Recon class challenges to complete in Battlefield 6. You can only start working on these once you've reached Rank 20 in multiplayer.

Challenge

Requirement

Reward

Recon 1

  • Spot 250 enemies in objective areas with Recon gadgets.
  • Earn 10,000 score.
  • C4 Explosives

Recon 2

  • Get 50 headshots over 150m as Recon.
  • Spec Ops Training Path

Recon 3

  • Trick 30 enemies into hitting your Sniper Decoy.
  • Head Count Player Card Icon
  • Dead Eye Character Patch

To complete these challenges, you have to make use of Recon-specific gadgets during matches. Playing Conquest on large maps like Liberation Peak is the best way to get these done quickly. As long as you put your Motion Sensor and other gadgets in the right spot, you'll be finished before you know it.

Getting long-range headshots can be tricky if you're not a pro sniper, but you can equip a Range Finder attachment on your rifle to make things a bit easier. Be sure to place Sniper Decoys whenever you can, too.

C4 Demolition Charge

There are three Recon Specialist challenges to complete in Battlefield 6. These are unlocked after completing the first three Recon class challenges.

Challenge

Requirement

Reward

Recon Specialist 1

  • Spot 300 enemies at objectives using Recon gadgets.
  • Earn 40,000 score.
  • TRCRV2 Tracer Dart

Recon Specialist 2

  • Laser Designate targets that sustain 2,000 damage.
  • Mark 25 vehicles using the Tracer Dart.
  • Recon Mission Player Card Background

Recon Specialist 3

  • Get 10 headshot kills over 200m as Recon in a match.
  • Dead 3,000 damage with Demolition Charges or Anti-Personnel Mines.
  • Rain Wrapped Character Skin (NATO)
  • Dead Sight Character Skin (Pax Armata)
  • Silent Strike Player Card Title

For these challenges, you just have to keep using Recon gadgets. The hardest part is using the Laser Designator to help your allies deal damage to vehicles. It paints enemy vehicles and makes it easier for launchers to lock onto them, but you'll have to hope that your teammates are in the mood to blow stuff up.

Once you complete these Recon challenges, you'll be able to flex your sniping prowess with exclusive skins for both NATO and Pax Armata. If you're having trouble nailing those long-distance shots, try tweaking your Battlefield 6 settings.
