Communication is the key to victory in Battlefield 6, and you can ping enemies and vehicles to designate important targets and highlight them for your squad. The spotting system has been revamped in Battlefield 6, and there are perks you can use to make enemies even easier to ping.
Highlighting enemies for your allies will net you some bonus points since you'll rack up assists in the process, so it's a good idea to mark enemy targets even if you're not playing with a coordinated group. Plus, spotting is easier than ever before in Battlefield 6. Here's how to ping enemies in Battlefield 6.
How Battlefield 6 Can Improve the Series' Spotting Mechanic
Spotting is one of the series’ most defining mechanics, but its interpretation in Battlefield 6 is an opportunity for positive change.
How to Ping Enemies in Battlefield 6
To ping in Battlefield 6, press the Q key on PC or L1/LB on console. This will place a green marker wherever you're aiming. If you press the ping button twice, it'll place a red marker to show your teammates that the area is dangerous.
Holding down the ping button will open the communication wheel, allowing you to make more specific requests. You can request ammo, health, or even a ride from someone driving by. You can also respond positively or negatively to any of your squad's pings or orders so you can formulate a plan of attack.
You don't have to worry about spotting specific enemies since targets are spotted automatically in Battlefield 6. Auto-spotting has been toned down since the open beta, but the mechanic is still here in the full game. If you aim at an enemy, they'll be marked for your squad to see. You don't even have to shoot them. This works for vehicles like tanks and helicopters as well, not just infantry.
You can boost your auto-spotting capabilities with certain perks in Battlefield 6. If you play as the Recon class, for example, you can choose the Sniper Training Path. This gives you Enhanced Perception, improving your auto spotting range by 33% and boosting the detection angle by 10%. It'll also make enemies stay spotted for longer. You'll also mark any enemies that you damage, no matter the distance.
There are a few other perks like this, so check the Training Paths and gadgets for your favorite Battlefield 6 classes to see if you can gather more intel for your allies. Spotting enemies is crucial for capturing objectives across all game modes, and the team with more intel usually wins the battle.
