Even though the beta session has not yet launched, Battlefield 6 has already reached an impressive number of players who appear to be waiting to jump in as soon as EA flips the switch. There's a ton of excitement from the community over Battlefield 6 at the moment, thanks in large part to the recent showcase event.
While EA released the first trailer in July, this past weekend gave fans their first major look at Battlefield 6 multiplayer. At the showcase event, EA revealed tons of new details about Battlefield 6, including showcasing the return of the traditional class specialization system, maps, enhanced destruction, as well as both new and returning game modes. In addition, EA also confirmed an upcoming open beta opportunity to test out the game, which has seemingly left many fans excited with anticipation.
Battlefield 6 Open Beta Nearly Reaches 10,000 Players Before Launch
The Battlefield 6 Open Beta is set to launch on August 7 through Early Access, then August 9 for everyone, but according to the charts at SteamDB, this hasn't stopped players from accessing the client on PC. After becoming available on Steam, the Open Beta nearly reached 10,000 players in less than 24 hours, with over 5,000 still active at the time of writing. What's interesting is that even though players can technically access the Open Beta, the servers are not active, so there's really not much to do at the moment.
While players can certainly preload the Battlefield 6 beta ahead of its launch later this week, there isn't a huge reason to jump into the game at this moment. It's unknown why so many players are currently sitting inside the inactive open beta, though there is the option to tweak the game's settings, so perhaps fans are tweaking and perfecting everything to be ready to hit the ground running once the servers are officially turned on.
Regardless, Battlefield 6 has seemingly made a strong initial impact with its gameplay and trailers, helping to generate a ton of excitement already. Following the reveal, Battlefield 6 preorder sales have skyrocketed on Steam and PS5, reaching the top of the charts. EA has also confirmed that Battlefield 6 will be launching with its own EA Javelin Anticheat, while featuring its own take on skill-based matchmaking and crossplay as well.
