After Battlefield 2042's (failed) experiments with Specialists, Battlefield 6 is getting ready to put soldier classes back in the spotlight. The four staple classes return in Battlefield 6, with Assault still being the frontline attackers, Recon being the long-range snipers, Engineer being the squad's repairmen, and Support being the medics.

But for Battlefield 6, each class is getting some shiny new toys. By choosing a specialization path, each of Battlefield 6's classes will obtain new gadgets and earn special buffs that affect not just the player but their entire squad. There's a lot for both new and returning players to experiment with, and for those planning to jump into Battlefield 6's Open Beta this weekend, it's vital that they experiment with each and every class.

Battlefield 6's Open Beta Rewards Those Who Try Every Class

It's very likely that most long-time Battlefield players will already have a favorite class, and it'll probably be one they've been using for the best part of two decades. It's also just as likely that any series newcomers will put a few hours into Battlefield 6 and decide that one class' playstyle suits them more than the rest. But at least for Battlefield 6's first Open Beta, players need to fight this natural urge to stick with the class they vibe with the most.

Battlefield 6's Open Beta begins on August 7 for those with early access codes. Everyone will then be able to hop into the Beta from August 9 at 1am PDT to August 11 at 1am PDT. Battlefield 6's Open Beta will then have a second weekend on August 14-17.

During its first weekend, the Battlefield 6 Open Beta is giving out a total of seven cosmetic rewards that will unlock upon the game's full October 10 release. To earn these seven rewards, players need to complete specific challenges. Four of these Beta challenges are based on the player's performance in each of Battlefield 6's four classes.

  • While playing Engineer, repair a total of 3,000 vehicle HP - Earns the After Dark Weapon Sticker

It might take some time to complete each one, but Battlefield 6's Open Beta challenges shouldn't be too taxing for most players. With each challenge granting a unique reward, players will want to make sure they play as each of Battlefield 6's four classes during the Beta, especially Recon, as that will net players a particularly cool ghillie suit skin when Battlefield 6 launches in October.

The other three challenges available during Battlefield 6's first Open Beta weekend require players to reach level 10, 15, and 20. Reaching level 10 earns them a Lights Out Player Card Background, reaching 15 rewards them with a Rising Star Character Skin, and reaching level 20 gives them a Night Terror Weapon Charm.

Battlefield 6 is Taking Inspiration from the Best Games in the Franchise

When the second weekend of Battlefield 6's Open Beta begins on August 14, players will have the chance to earn three additional cosmetic rewards that carry over to BF6's full release. These include a War Machine vehicle skin for capturing 42 flags in Domination, Conquest, or King of the Hill, a Bat Company Dog Tag for getting 200 kills or assists, and a Striking Distance Weapon Package for capturing 10 sectors in Rush or Breakthrough.
