Physical editions of Battlefield 6 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are already being sold by some retailers, as fans take to social media to show their early copies of the game. Battlefield 6 isn't due to launch until October 10, which means there are still a few days left to go until its official release. Typically, gamers who obtain physical copies of a title before its release are unable to play online, but that doesn't appear to be the case with Battlefield 6.

analysts predict battlefield 6 copies sold first week

Battlefield 6 will be the first entry in the franchise following the disastrous launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. Fans criticized the shooter due to its lack of traditional features, such as a scoreboard and server browser, as well as the numerous bugs, performance issues, and other problems. Now, however, the series appears to be attempting to right its wrongs with Battlefield 6, as the game's open beta received huge praise from players back in August. The playtest even managed to break records for the series, becoming the largest beta in Battlefield history and peaking at over 521,000 concurrent players on Steam alone.

Some Battlefield 6 Fans Already Have Physical Copies

Unfortunately, there isn't any form of early access for Battlefield 6, even if players pre-order the more expensive Phantom Edition. However, some fans appear to be getting their hands on physical copies of the game a whole four days before its October 10 release date. Although it's not unheard of for something like this to happen, Reddit user Grecea_vlad claims they are able to play both the Battlefield 6 Campaign and Multiplayer, even attaching an in-game screenshot and stating that the game's servers are already online.

Fans may already know all there is to know about the game's Multiplayer, but for those who don't want the Battlefield 6 single-player Campaign spoiled for them, it's probably best to browse social media cautiously until October 10. With that being said, there may not exactly be much to spoil, as EA recently revealed that there will be fewer than 10 missions to complete in Battlefield 6's Campaign. While the time to complete these missions will vary between players, it is estimated that the story can be completed between 4 and 6 hours.

This will be the first time in four years that Call of Duty and Battlefield have gone head-to-head, and while Activision's smash-hit franchise usually dominates the charts, it may finally be Battlefield's year. Analysts have already predicted that Battlefield 6 will sell approximately 5 million copies in its first week, and the shooter has already dominated Call of Duty in its open beta. While Battlefield 6 managed to rake in over half a million concurrent players on Steam alone, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has only peaked at just under 100,000 on the platform during its open beta.
