The Battlefield 6 servers are now live, but players are being put in massive queues instead of being let into the game. The hype is real when it comes to Battlefield 6. EA and Battlefield Studios have done an impressive job of winning back consumer confidence after the misstep that was Battlefield 2042, and it's now paying off big time.
The Battlefield 6 beta was a huge success, and that success has translated to an explosive launch. Reports indicate that Battlefield 6 has likely generated $100 million in revenue from Steam pre-orders alone, and one has to imagine that the game is selling quite well on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as well. In fact, there are so many people currently trying to play Battlefield 6, that it has resulted in thousands being thrown into a server queue.
Analysts Predict How Many Copies Battlefield 6 Will Sell in First Week
Analysts share a prediction for how well Battlefield 6 will perform, estimating an impressive number of copies sold in its first week.
Battlefield 6 Experiencing Server Overload at Launch
Battlefield 6 servers went live at 10:00am CT, but it's unclear how many players are actually able to get into the game. Currently, if you try to get into Battlefield 6, you are met with a message showing your spot in the massive server queue, in which there are hundreds of thousands of people waiting in line. This happened with the Battlefield 6 beta as well, and it didn't take long for players to get out of the queue in that case, but it's unclear how long players have to wait now that the game's full launch is upon us. One has to imagine that EA and Battlefield Studios will be working to resolve the problem sooner rather than later so Battlefield 6 can enjoy a strong launch weekend.
Battlefield 6's hugely successful launch was preceded by reviews going live that solidified it as one of the most highly-rated games in the series. Battlefield 6 reviews heaped praise on the game's multiplayer experience, though most of them were critical of the underwhelming single-player campaign. The vast majority of fans don't play Battlefield for the campaign anyway, and so the lackluster campaign will likely not matter much to most.
Beyond the single-player campaign and multiplayer, Battlefield 6 also has Portal mode. Portal mode gives players the tools to create their own unique Battlefield 6 experiences, though some fans have used the tools to recreate maps from Call of Duty instead. As more people get through the Battlefield 6 server queue and are allowed to check out the game's features for themselves, it will be exciting to see what kind of content comes from Portal mode.
