It has run extensive alpha playtesting for the latest game and is preparing to open the beta version to an even larger group. Even though it hasn't launched quite yet, players are already hailing Battlefield 6 as a return to form, and devs have confirmed that more changes are coming to help lean into that positive shift.

A developer on Battlefield 6 confirmed some key details about the studio's plans for the game's weapon and class system ahead of the open beta.
Battlefield 6 Will Keep Sniper Scope Glint but Will Tone It Down
As players began sharing images of some extreme scope glint from the recent multiplayer reveal event, Principal Game Designer Florian Le Bihan confirmed on Twitter that the Battlefield 6 team will scale the feature down but won't remove it entirely. Scope glint is an important part of how the game balances gameplay between classes, especially as Battlefield 6 introduces a somewhat controversial Recon specialization that renders players unable to be revived if snipers land a headshot with a bolt-action rifle. Giving away Recon players' position through glint makes it harder to take advantage of that skill, although too big a reflection may throw off that balance in the other direction.
Short as it may be, the post confirms two important things for Battlefield fans. First and most obviously, anyone annoyed by how bright the game's scope glint is won't have to deal with such extremes for long. Secondly, the response shows that the devs are listening and responding to gamers' concerns. Some elements of Battlefield 6 have already changed between the alpha and open beta, and it seems like developers are keeping that trend going.
How much the team will tone down glint and what other balancing adjustments Battlefield Studios may make from here is uncertain. Still, the response may be a reassuring sign for fans after the last game fell flat. While some people may still have issues with the title's current gameplay, players are clearly excited to jump in, with the Battlefield 6 beta attracting nearly 10,000 players in 24 hours even before officially launching.
