Battlefield 6 is asking players for help in fixing an "unexpectedly fast" time-to-death bug. The issue was discovered during the Battlefield 6 open beta, which gave players the chance to play the highly anticipated game that will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 10, 2025.

Battlefield 6 sets a new record for the biggest open beta in series history.

The first week of the Battlefield 6 beta took place from August 7 to August 10, and set impressive milestones for the series' history. The test made the Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive maps available for play, along with five game modes, including the fan-favorite Conquest. While the beta kept the community entertained and engaged, Battlefield 6 did experience some problems, such as a high number of cheaters and a conflict with anti-cheat software that required PC players to uninstall Valorant. The Battlefield 6 testing period presented another problem that the developers are working on addressing.

Battlefield 6 Investigates Unexpectedly Fast Time to Death (TTD) Bug

On Twitter, lead game designer Florian Le Bihan asked players to send videos from the Battlefield 6 open beta that recorded the unexpectedly fast time-to-death problem happening. The tweet has garnered 160 responses so far, many of them with videos and reports. One of the most notable responses shows two situations: one in which the player is instantly knocked out but sees no indication of being hit, and another in which they take damage seconds after being shot. Time to death, also known as TTD, refers to the time it takes for a player to die after being hit.

In addition to asking for reports of the unexpectedly fast time to death issue, Florian Le Bihan asked players to show videos in which players are hit by “super bullets.” In addition to these, players can find a comprehensive list of other issues reported during the Battlefield 6 beta on the official Electronic Arts forum. Some situations include players not being able to ping or spot while inside a vehicle, the “close map” button becoming unusable after opening the map in-game, and the Battlefield 6 character being unable to ping enemies while using stationary weapons.

With the Battlefield 6 servers closed, the development team continues to collect feedback from players to make the necessary corrections. After all, Battlefield 6 will return for a second week of open beta, which will begin on August 14 and end on August 17. In addition to having a second chance to test the game, Battlefield 6 players can unlock rewards for participating in the second week: the War Machine vehicle skin, the Bat Company dog tag, and the Striking Distance weapon package.
