DICE has released a new hotfix for Battlefield 6 that makes some temporary adjustments to XP in the shooter's newest game mode, Strikepoint. The studio didn't elaborate on the exact changes that have been made, but it is speculated to be due to a recent exploit discovered by Battlefield 6 players that granted squads up to 2.5 million XP if the right circumstances were met.

Strikepoint is one of Battlefield 6's newest modes that was released alongside the game's big Season 1 update on October 28. Unlike the large-scale battles found in Breakthrough or Conquest, Strikepoint offers smaller, close-nit combat where players only have one life per round. Players can win a round by either eliminating the enemy team or by capturing the objective. The first team to win 6 rounds will emerge victorious.

DICE Makes XP Adjustments to Battlefield 6's Newest Mode

Ever since Battlefield 6's launch back in October, XP has been a huge topic of discussion. As many believe progression is far too slow, XP farms quickly became a prevalent issue until DICE reduced the amount of XP achievable in Battlefield 6 Portal. Shortly after Season 1 rolled around, fans found a new way to gain huge amounts of XP in the form of an exploit using the new Strikepoint game mode. To combat this, DICE says it has made temporary adjustments to XP in the mode until a longer-term solution can be found. The studio didn't mention the exploit, but did say it had identified an issue that was affecting the amount of XP in Strikepoint.

Unlike the previous XP bot farm issue, this new exploit required a bit more work. According to a user on the EA Forum, players were able to exploit XP in Strikepoint if one team quit the match during halftime, when the score is 0-5. The team that stays in the match then receives massive amounts of XP, with some even reporting up to 2.5 million if the conditions are met repeatedly. Thankfully, it appears that this is no longer possible, as DICE has fixed the problem with a new Battlefield 6 update on November 1. However, a more permanent solution is still being worked on.

This change also coincided with the launch of Battlefield 6's new Casual Breakthrough mode on November 1. Similar to Warzone's Casual playlists, this new mode fills the majority of the lobby with bots in order to reduce the intensity for those looking for a more "relaxed" way to play. In total, Casual Breakthrough features 16 real players (8 per team) and 32 bots (16 per team). While players can still earn Career XP, Weapon XP, Battle Pass XP, and complete Challenges, there is reduced XP from any bot-related actions. Eliminating real players will still grant the full amount of XP.
