Battlefield RedSec takes players into Battlefield’s very own Battle Royale experience, and the action is definitely intense. Enter Fort Lyndon, a large-scale map filled with military POIs, vehicles to secure, and a host of chaotic gunfights, all while the safe zone shrinks as the firestorm closes in.
In Battlefield RedSec, the main focus is on weapons. While players can earn their own custom loadouts, picking up guns from the ground will often be the go-to method for securing early-game kills. However, for those unable to grab a Custom Weapon Drop, ground loot weapons can actually be upgraded using Gunsmith Kits. Here’s how to use them.
How to Redeploy Teammates in Battlefield RedSec
Having trouble getting your squadmates back into the action in Battlefield RedSec Battle Royale? Here is a guide to redeploying squadmates.
Where to Find Gunsmith Kits in Battlefield RedSec
Finding Gunsmith Kits in Battlefield RedSec mostly comes down to RNG, as they do not spawn in any specific location. Instead, they have a chance to appear inside any crate, with orange crates offering the best odds of securing one. To increase your chances, make sure to open every container you come across during a match.
Once you find a Gunsmith Kit, you can either use it right away if you have the matching weapon type, or store it in your inventory to use later.
How to Use Gunsmith Kits to Upgrade Weapons in Battlefield RedSec
To use a Gunsmith Kit in Battlefield RedSec, players must first have the correct weapon equipped for that specific kit. There are several types of Gunsmith Kits, such as Assault Rifle Kits and PDW Kits, each designed for their respective weapon categories. The requirements are relatively straightforward, with PDW Kits only being usable on SMGs, while MG Kits are meant for LMGs, and so on.
Once you have the required weapon for the Gunsmith Kit you’ve found, head over to the kit, or drop it if it’s already in your inventory. From here, hold the interact button to use it. Doing so will bring players into a new menu where they can choose between two attachments to apply to their weapon.
The attachments offered will differ depending on the rarity of the weapon you’re upgrading, with common weapons offering basic scopes, while higher-rarity weapons may provide increased accuracy or magazine capacity. Once you’ve selected your desired upgrade, the attachment and stat buffs will be applied to your weapon, and its rarity will increase.
Afterward, players will also be able to upgrade the weapon again if they find another Gunsmith Kit, all the way until the gun has been fully upgraded.
