Battlefield RedSec’s surprise debut has taken the Battlefield community by storm, offering a free-to-play Battle Royale mode that players can enjoy outside the premium Battlefield 6 experience. With its main mode delivering classic Battle Royale action where players fight until the last squad remains, paired with the more competitive and fast-paced Gauntlet mode, those jumping in are sure to have a great time.
Battlefield RedSec can definitely be a little confusing at first, introducing plenty of unique mechanics that shake up the traditional Battle Royale formula. However, one thing that remains familiar is the ability to find different types of containers, some of which hold higher rarity loot. This includes the game’s Locked Safes which, with the right tool, can be opened for valuable rewards. Here’s how to open Locked Safes in Battlefield RedSec.
Battlefield 6’s Meta RedSec Loadout Is Exactly What You Think It Is
A tried-and-true weapon pairing is more than likely going to be the go-to loadout in Battlefield 6's RedSec, and it's not hard to see why.
How to Open Locked Safes in Battlefield RedSec
Locked Safes are a special kind of loot cache that many players may find themselves encountering, and generally pop up inside different buildings in each and every major POI on the Battlefield RedSec map. While they are relatively easy to spot, opening them is a different story if you do not have the required Gadget, as they can only be opened by a certain Class.
To open a Locked Safe in Battlefield RedSec, players need a Repair Tool, which is only available to those who have chosen the Engineer Class. This generally makes it a good idea for at least one squadmate to be an Engineer, along with pinging the safe in the event that another squadmate with a different Class equipped finds it first. Engineers can open a Locked Safe by equipping the Repair Tool and then using it on the Safe.
After a few moments of using the repair torch on the Safe, the progress of which will be shown on your HUD, it will open, offering players the loot stored inside. Within Locked Safes, players can generally find a range of items like Rare weapons, Armor Plates, Call-In Gadgets, Intel Cases for quick XP, and much more. This makes them an excellent way to get some good loot with very little effort, if you are lucky enough to find one.
Players are unable to switch classes while they are alive in Battlefield RedSec. However, if they are eliminated, they can swap their classes along with edit their loadouts right up until they redploy back into the match.
