There are many players who will immediately take to There is No Light, despite the difficulty of the game. However, there are still players who may need some beginner tips to guide them through the game, in order to start off on the right foot and get some advice on how to begin.

7 Charge Up Those Attacks, They Can Heal

There is No Light - Eyes

There are three types of attacks that enemies can make - red attacks, yellow attacks, and white attacks. Yellow attacks can be interrupted only by charged attacks - this makes it incredibly important for a player to use as many charged attacks as they can.

On top of this, charged attacks can actually heal the player if they keep using them. With each hit, they will fill up one of the four slots of the healing meter - when all are filled out, the next attack will drop a health orb that a player can use.

6 Stock Up On Medicine

There is No Light - Cobweb

There is No Light is a game that many players describe as punishing. One of the main things that a player has to work around is the lack of an abundance of medicine - unless a player wants to make a deal with the devil, there is not going to be a lot of medicine.

A player needs to make sure they always have medicine on hand when they get into a difficult boss battle. Do not use the medicine willy nilly, as there are only a few bits per level, and they do not respawn.

5 Do Not Be Afraid To Use Multiple Weapons

There is No Light - Boss

Along the way, a player will pick up a large assortment of weapons - although they may not get all of these weapons in an instant, the arsenal a player will have by the end is long and sprawling. These weapons will have multiple uses, and it is worth it for a player to use them all.

The player, for example, can hit enemies with one sword that has a long range of damage. At the same time, though, they can also hit enemies from close up with another sword they have, while waiting for the first one they threw to come back.

4 There Are Multiple Paths

There is No Light - Jumping

With each level that a player will be going through in the game, they will realize that there are quite a few paths that a player can take. These paths are going to be great ways for a player to gather up all sorts of items on their quest.

There is no downside to a player finding another path to pick and go through on their quest. Who knows - t hey could end up finding a rare item that completely changes the game for them and how they play.

3 Do Not Forget To Explore

There is No Light - Holy

Exploring the world around the player and turning over every nook and cranny will be a good way to find all sorts of items needed. Seeing as medicine is few and far in between, tearing the world apart to try and find every medicine a player can get is going to be highly beneficial.

When a player takes the time to explore, there will be all sorts of hidden goodies that they will discover. It is a great idea, and does not really take that much extra time.

2 Urgent Quests Should Not Be Ignored

There is No Light - Explosion

Along the way, a player will get a few urgent quests from the non-playable characters (otherwise known as NPCs) that they come across. It will be a terrible decision for a player to turn down or ignore these urgent quests.

Players will realize that urgent quests are actually time sensitive here. NPCs dying from poison, for example, will actually die if a player ignores them and continues to explore. It would be best to solve urgent quests as soon as possible, because an important character dying will actually change the course of the story for good.

1 When In Doubt, Run

There is No Light - Creature

There are only a few scenarios that a player cannot run from (such as boss enemies), but those are few and far in between. Apart from that, though, There is No Light will allow a player to manage to dodge quite a few enemies and get to a checkpoint simply by dashing.

Even if a player ends up dying during their mad dash to the checkpoint, this is still quicker than trying to fight off the enemies the normal way. As such, dashing will be one of the player's best options if they find themselves swarmed.

There is No Light is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
