Devil May Cry and Castlevania: Nocturne are quite similar. Both have strong male main characters looking for a way to get a hold of their powers, and once they do, they are fearsome in battle. Though Dante's sense of humor is a little bit edgier than Richter's, both series indeed have great action scenes.
Castlevania: Nocturne offers more than simply bloody carnage: It has a great story and some incredible easter eggs to find if readers are die-hard fans of the games.
5 Witchblade

- 2006 - 2006
The Witchblade series (set in the same universe as The Darkness) comes from an original American Comic property of Top Cow, and it is a great example of one of the first early 2000's collaborations between an anime studio and an American producer.
The series is based loosely on the Witchblade universe, though some of the characteristics are there: Ancient sentient weapon taking hold of the female host body, lots of action, and body horror. It is a total reboot with a new host carrying the legendary weapon. Witchblade is meant for adult audiences and has a lot of violence and gore, so readers are advised to use discretion.

Tomb Raider: The Legend Of Lara Croft is the animated version of the most popular action video game female heroine, and it does a great job at taking the torch from the Crystal Dynamics reboot of the series and taking it to the streaming screen.
Like in the case of Devil May Cry, it has tons of Easter Eggs that the watchful eyes of the fans can spot, and also tons of cool new settings to explore. The action scenes are somewhat toned down, but it still does the trick.
3 Spawn: The Animated Series
One Of The Best Things Todd McFarlane Did

Gory, extreme, dark, and unapologetic: Spawn is one of the finest creations of the Author and Artist Todd McFarlane, and it has a hell of an animated series starring the legendary Keith David as the voice of this obscure and intriguing anti-hero.
If fans of Devil May Cry enjoyed the violence, gore, and action of the series produced by Adi Shankar, they will probably love Spawn. Though it can be a little bit hard for those who don't enjoy adult animation.
2 Invincible
Viciously Unapologetic, Deals With Tons Of Violence

Though it is true that Invincible is quite toned down (maybe even sugarcoated) compared to the original comic series, it still retains that very same bloody, violent spirit that made it quite characteristic and comparable to masterpieces like The Boys.
Fans of Dante's inclination for turning his enemies into mince meat will surely love to see Mark turning into that which he swore to destroy (especially in Season 2). Here's a fair warning: Season 3 of Invincible can be a bit triggering.

Blood of Zeus might have gone under the radar of some fans of animated series with anime vibes, but for some, it was a great display of creativity. Especially when fans have a chance to get into the story and the world-building behind it, it can be addictive.
With elevated stakes, an engaging action storyline, and more than one surprise, Blood of Zeus is quite similar to Devil May Cry in terms of gore, fluid video game-like combat, and, of course, tons of gore.
