2025 has been a great year for anime so far. Now that the fall season is in full swing, the year looks like it's going to end on a high note. With series like Dandadan, Solo Leveling, The Apothecary Diaries, and even the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie coming out this year, 2025 has been absolutely stacked with big anime releases. But as good as we've had it this year, next year is going to be even better.
While highly anticipated series like season 3 of Solo Leveling and Wit Studio's The One Piece don't have any release dates or windows, there's still plenty of amazing anime that are confirmed to come out in 2026. It's a good time to be an anime fan, and it looks like next year is going to be even better thanks to these highly anticipated anime.

The Apothecary Diaries has quickly become a fan-favorite series, with the anime set to have three seasons in as many years. It has a little bit of everything for everyone: romance, drama, mystery, and two great leads who make the series a blast to watch.
Not only is a third season coming in October 2026, but a new movie will follow not too long after. Set to release in December of the same year, the new movie will come out right after the first cours of season 3 is over. 2026 is already looking like a stacked year for Apothecary Diaries fans, and with the second cours of the third season set to release the following April, 2027 isn't looking too bad either.

DanDaDan has captured plenty of anime fans' hearts with its quirky comedic beats and great cast of characters. Momo and Okarun's supernatural and extraterrestrial adventures have made for two great seasons so far, and things look like they're ramping up for season 3.
The explosive cliffhanger at the end of season 2 had everyone wanting more, and thankfully, it looks like anime fans are set to get more of Momo and Okarun soon. While no seasonal window has been revealed yet, it's probably safe to say season 3 of DanDaDan will be coming out around summer or fall 2026.

While every season sees a variety of new takes on the Isekai and fantasy genres, there hasn't been much to come out over the years that spices things up quite like Re:ZERO has. After being suddenly transported to another world, layabout teen Subaru Natsuki finds that if he is killed, he has the ability to revive himself at different points in time preceding his death. With this newfound power in hand, Subaru sets out to help a young half-elf named Emilia in her journey to become the new ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica.
Season 1 of Re:ZERO came out in 2016 and became an immediate hit with anime fans. With a four-year gap between seasons 1 and 2, and another three-year gap from season 2 to 3, it's great to see that White Fox is keeping the momentum going strong and delivering season 4 so soon after season 3 ended. With season 3 having ended in March, we could see season 4 release during the spring or summer.

The hype around the series might've died down a bit after the manga's divisive finale, but season 3 of Oshi no Ko is still going to bring in tons of attention once it drops sometime in January. Season 3 of the anime is set to adapt the Mainstay Arc, and if there's still time left in the season, the Scandal Arc as well.
The mainstay arc will see Ruby become more prominent within the entertainment industry, and the Scandal arc will show Kana getting into a rough situation with the media at her back. Both arcs should make for an interesting season, and if there is a fourth season, there's still plenty left for the anime to work with.

It's been almost three years since the Stone Ocean anime concluded. Fans have been eagerly awaiting news of Part 7, Steel Ball Run getting animated, and they got it in April of this year. With David Production back to animate the next installment in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise, fans know that the adaptation is in good hands.
The first part that takes place within a different continuity than its predecessors, Steel Ball Run takes place in the United States in 1890. It follows paraplegic jockey Johnny Joestar and former executioner Gyro Zeppeli as they seek to win the cross-country Steel Ball Run race and claim the $50 million grand prize. Many fans regard Steel Ball Run as the best JoJo part, and considering what came before it, that's saying something. After years of waiting, we'll finally get to see Johnny and Gyro animated.

Not many anime have the same momentum that Jujutsu Kaisen does right now. Coming off of two amazing seasons, a strong prequel film, a compilation film, and with another compilation film on the way, JJK is one of the biggest anime series around right now. Though the manga concluded in September 2024, the anime is still going strong. With the spin-off series, Modulo, currently running in Weekly Shonen Jump, it doesn't look like the series will be slowing down any time soon.
Season 3 of the anime will adapt the Culling Game Arc. If you think the first two seasons of the anime were intense, season 3 should shatter your expectations. Set for a January 2026 release, season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is going to be a strong contender for anime of the year.

It's part of an absolutely stacked winter 2026 line-up, though it won't be hard for Frieren to stand out among its peers. With incredible animation and characters, the series has amassed a strong following.
Season 2 of the anime will finish adapting the First-Class Mage Exam Arc, with the Continued Northern Travels Arc and Divine Revolte Arc next in line. While the series might've gotten snubbed as Anime of the Year, you can bet that season 2 will make an even stronger case for it being recognized among the best series today.
