5 Forgotten Heroes In Isekai Anime

There's a lot of isekai anime out there, and it was inevitable that quite a few heroes and heroines became forgotten over time.

This list is about a selection of anime series to watch in 2025 before they are rebooted. The titles have been picked according to industry trends, the demand of the fans, and a lot of hearsay in the industry, which seems to point towards these six titles as the next targets for anime modernization.

With its charming and sometimes bloody setting, Tsukihime is one of the best Gothic Romance anime series ever made, and also, one of the most successful adaptations of a Type-Moon LN.

The original series was released in 2003, and strong rumors are circulating among fans about a potential reboot. Taking into consideration that it's been a while since there was a TM anime series, there's a slight chance that the predictions of the fandom are right in the money, and seeing the latter trends in the industry, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to see a modern adaptation of the series.

One of the first Isekai Anime that sparked the trend, and combined mecha, magical girls, and a thrilling unrequited love story as the main engine of a portentous plot. The construction of the world, the character progression through the plot, and the main antagonist's conflict between duty and love are simply marvelous.

It's one of the best classic anime from the 90's which already has a reboot incoming at an undetermined date. But since it was announced for the 30th anniversary of the IP, we may get it around July 2025. So, better watch this classic series before the new version outshines it.

Romance, Mystery, Giant Robots Powered by Dragon Hearts, this series has a lot of potential, and it's one of the best fantasy series from the late 90s that every fan of Isekai should see. With great action scenes and a powerful and heartfelt love story between two people from different worlds, it is no wonder that many believe it will be a candidate for a reboot.

These are some of the most daring romance web novels fans of the genre should check out.

It also has one of the best and most notorious villains (something unlikely for an isekai anime) whose identity has tormented fans of sci-fantasy for years. They're still trying to figure out his motivations, the reasons for his descent into madness, and whether he was really a villain or not. So, readers should better watch this jewel before its reboot is released.

Alongside Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, Sailor Moon, and Escaflowne, Slayers is one of the best fantasy series of all time. It is no wonder that fans are clamoring for a reboot of this masterpiece, though the original has aged greatly, and can be enjoyed without many issues.

The problem is, where to watch it. The main reason for rebooting anime series is that originals are being lost due to the modernization of digital formats, databases, and even human error (it happened with Space Runaway Ideon: Be Invoked, which had its negatives eliminated by mistake, and some of the original materials from Urusei Yatsura). So, perhaps having a modern version of Slayers could preserve this jewel, so future generations can also enjoy Lina and Gaudi's adventures.

The Rose of Versailles was a groundbreaking anime, we can even say it was the precursor of modern shoujo. With a daring plot, that mixed events of the French Revolution with fiction, in a historical drama anime like the world had never seen before.

It touched a lot of sensible spots, and also a lot of sensible hearts at that. With the new movie coming in hot, fans are excited to be able to see its colorful scenarios in high definition. So, it is probable that after the movie, a more fateful reboot of the manga series will be put into motion. But the original is still available for grabs, for all of those who want to experience how avant-garde it was firsthand.

Cowboy Bebop is one of those anime series that has become a timeless classic that has aged perfectly fine as it is. It is a story that doesn't need endless seasons to be told: unrequited love, loss, betrayal, bounty hunters in space. It has a lot of strong points that make it unique. The staff behind this incredible sci-fi/space western anime wanted to close the story in only one season, and they did one hell of a job at that.

And then, years later, we got a Live-Action series that failed catastrophically, lacked the charm of the original, and was marked for burial in the desert, right next to the E.T. Atari game. So then again, why do these rumors about a reboot of the animated series keep resurfacing each month? You know how the saying goes: 'V ox populi, vox Dei,' so, perhaps if fans want it so badly, they will soon receive a reboot. The problem is: that they might get more than they bargained for.
