8 DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power
Metascore: 66
- Platforms: Nintendo Switch
- Released: 4 June 2021
- Developers: TOYBOX Inc.
- Genres: Fighting, Adventure
Perhaps a title that has flown under the radar of many players out there is DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power. Based on the animated series of the same name, this open-world adventure game throws players into that same animated world packed with recognizable DC heroes and villains as superpowered high schoolers.
The game doesn't have the deepest combat going, but what it does offer is an accessible and family-friendly game that lets players balance gameplay elements of traditional superhero games with baddies to beat up and new abilities to unlock. Accompanying that is the casual social-sim gameplay that allows players to express their style by shopping for outfits and updating their Superstapost social with their latest selfies. It doesn't really excel in either department, but it does a serviceable job of delivering a colorful and accessible superhero game.
7 Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Cloud Version

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy
- Released
- October 26, 2021
- Developer(s)
- Eidos Montreal
- Platform(s)
- PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S
- Genre(s)
- Action-Adventure
Eidos Montreal's Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy is probably the best game to feature playable Guardians. Although the only playable Guardian is Star-Lord, the story is still about the team, and players will constantly be communicating and directing the team in combat encounters to slay the many foes and incredible bosses the game throws at players throughout the impressive story.
Despite being a standout Marvel experience, the game finds itself at the lower end of the list due to its cloud version availability. In short, it isn't the best way to experience the game, but for those Nintendo gamers, the cloud version can still do the job, delivering one of the best stories set within a superhero game. Due to unreliable performance and strong network connection requirements, it may not be a version every switch holder can experience. Thankfully, the store allows the first portion of the game to be downloaded as a demo for aspiring players to test the game out and see how suitable their setup is.

Batman: The Telltale Series
- Released
- August 2, 2016
- Developer(s)
- Telltale Games
- Platform(s)
- Mobile, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
- Genre(s)
- Adventure
Over the years, Telltale Games has comfortably established itself as one of the go-to developers for well-told narrative experiences. They have an impressive back -catalog of games and Batman: The Telltale Series is just one of the many great games they've created.
Like many other Telltale games, Batman: The Telltale Series is focused heavily on the narrative experience, giving players the power to dictate the flow of the overall story with their choices. Though not as action-heavy as Rocksteady's Arkham series, Telltales' Batman adventure delivers a great Batman adventure. It gives time to both parts of Batman, exciting action and tough late-night brooding as Batman, and juggling the political and public life of Bruce Wayne. It also drops a healthy dose of detective work to conduct, piecing crime scenes together to unravel the overarching plot. It may not be Telltale's best adventure game, but it's still a great adventure worth experiencing.

Batman: Arkham Trilogy
- Released
- October 13, 2023
- Developer(s)
- Rocksteady Studios, Iron Galaxy
- Platform(s)
- Nintendo Switch
- Genre(s)
- Action-Adventure
To many gamers out there, Rocksteady Studios Batman Arkham Trilogy is seen as the quintessential Batman experience. The three games are seen as some of the best Batman games to have ever been released, and that's no easy feat, but with their trademark combat system, and well-realized versions of so many DC greats, it's hard to deny the ported trilogy a spot on this list.
The Nintendo Switch trilogy comes complete with Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knigh t, complete with every piece of DLC launched, it really is the complete Batman package. Whilst the first two games are solid ports and provide players with the chance to relive those masterful games on the go, the port of the third entry has been littered with problems since launch, knocking the value of the whole package. The first two games are landmark superhero games and video games that any fan of DC or not should play, but the third entry is probably best left to be experienced elsewhere.
