Defense Cookies are a key component of any team composition in Cookie Run: Kingdom, as they provide vital defenses to protect the rest of the team. They are super strong Cookies that take up a front-line position. As well as defending their allies, Defense Cookies can also taunt enemies and buff the other Cookies on their team.

There are a range of Defense Cookies available in Cookie Run: Kingdom for players of all levels (once they have been unlocked in the Gacha), but some of these characters are more powerful than others. With this in mind, we’re going to be looking at the particularly noteworthy Defense Cookies that make for excellent additions to a PvP or PvE Cookie Run: Kingdom team.

As bodyguard to Hollyberry Cookie (who will be making an appearance later on in this list), it is no surprise that Wildberry Cookie has a skill set that makes him well-suited to defense. His strong defenses are offset by his offensive special skills.

Wildberry’s Wild Punch produces a buff that makes him more powerful, and his teammates also become more resistant to damage when the skill is active. When the skill ends, he will finish with one last uppercut that knocks enemies back and stuns them. This combination of offense and defense makes Wildberry Cookie a versatile choice.

Mischievous Puppy Goat

Cloud Haetae Cookie’s design is inspired by the mythical haetae creature, which was said to be a single horned goat or sheep beast with vast intellect and a desire to punish the corrupt and serve justice. The design also incorporates cute, puppy-like features to make this Cookie all the more adorable. As a defense character, Cloud Haetae Cookie is a strong option. When using its special skill, the Cookie will completely transform into a Cloud Haetae, increasing its damage resistance and defense while creating health shields for the rest of the team. Its attacks deal AoE damage and when the skill ends, Cloud Haetae performs a similar move to Wildberry Cookie in that it charges at the enemy one final time to stun them.

Enemy debuff immunities are disabled when Haetae Charge is active, and Cloud Hatetae Cookie will also heal the teammate that has the lowest health with their Cloud Rolls. For a combination of healing and defense buffs, Cloud Haetae Cookie is an excellent choice.

This adorable genius Cookie is not only an expert in robotics, but is also a strong defender who offers useful buffs to certain members of the team. When Strawberry Crêpe Cookie’s Crêpe Thrust skill activates, they will lash out with two large crêpe arms to cause damage across an area, but the skill also reduces the amount of damage that two members of the team will receive, with one of those allies being the Cookie that currently has the lowest health.

Although the buffs from Strawberry Crêpe Cookie’s abilities only support a few teammates at a time, they are a defense Cookie well worth investing in.

Next is another bodyguard Cookie in the Cookie Run: Kingdom lore, who is sworn to protect Clotted Cream Cookie. This protective nature shines through in Financier Cookie’s special abilities. With her Paladin Protection skill, Financier Cookie protects the ally with the highest attack points. If Clotted Cream Cookie is part of a team composition, she will always protect him before anyone else. She will also be able to buff the Cookie she is defending, heal them, give them a Light Shield, and increase their attack, critical, and damage resistance.

Financier Cookie also has the Paladin’s Devotion Magic Candy Skill, which significantly improves the resistance of her protected Cookie while also making them immune to debuffs. When Paladin’s Devotion is active, she will heal the whole team rather than just the Cookie under her protection. Although Financier Cookie tends to focus on one Cookie rather than the whole team, when her Magic Candy Skill is active, she can be a formidable foe that is incredibly difficult to beat.

Pasta Mummy

She might be a somewhat confused Cookie and pasta mummy who looks unassuming at first glance, but Fettucine Cookie is surprisingly strong and a versatile defender who can heal, cause damage, and taunt the enemy team. When her Unstable Fettucine skill activates, Fettuccine Cookie's pasta arms become huge and lash out at enemies, taunting and damaging them, and making them susceptible to Earth-type damage. She also reduces their attack damage.

Once her fettucine arms have done their thing, she will also use a buff called Fettucine Wraps, which restores her health. The health of the rest of the team will also be restored once a certain number of enemies within range have been defeated. A stand-out element of Unstable Fettucine is Fettucine Cookie’s ability to become immortal once per battle when she is defeated. When immortal, she will decrease the attack speed of enemies (though this is at the expense of her own attack speed while immortal). Fettucine Cookie can be a tough character to get to grips with, but with the right team composition and strategy, she can be a valuable asset in battle.

This trident-wielding, seahorse riding mermaid Cookie is a defense character who means business. When her Somber Affection skill is active, Crimson Coral Cookie’s sisters, Aquamarine Cookie, Mystic Opal Cookie, Gold Citrine Cookie and White Pearl Cookie, will attack enemies to deal a significant amount of Water-type damage. When her sisters have attacked, Crimson Coral Cookie then creates a health shield that protects the two members of her team with the highest attack points.

When she is the only Cookie in a front position, Crimson Coral Cookie will give herself and her team the Coral Armor buff, which increases the maximum amount of ally health points, increases damage resistance, and reflects 30% of any incoming damage. These impressive buffs can create a rock solid defense strategy for the team, and make it difficult for the enemy to get in a killing blow, making Crimson Coral Cookie one of the most effective Defense Cookies in the game.

For Queen and Country

The Queen Mother of the Hollyberry Kingdom, Hollyberry Cookie is a fantastic defense option, as she can absorb a huge amount of enemy damage. When using her Oath on the Shield skill, Hollyberry Cookie becomes a shield to her entire team as she charges toward the enemies and absorbs a portion of the damage that her allies take. She is also able to reduce the critical damage that she and her team receive.

When she receives critical hits, Hollyberry Cookie will receive a Seed of Life stack, which will eventually turn into the Berry of Life. Berry of Life makes her Oath on the Shield skill all the more powerful and reduces its cooldown as well. For players looking for a Cookie that is all about strong defense and protecting the whole team (and if they are lucky enough to unlock her in the Gacha), Hollyberry Cookie is the way to go.

Respect Your Elders

Elder Faerie Cookie beats Hollyberry Cookie for the top spot in our list thanks to his versatility. Along with protecting the team, he also causes significant damage, debuffs enemies, and heals allies. When he uses the Guardian’s Valor skill, Elder Faerie Cookie uses the Prism Energy from his sword to deal damage and cause a harmful explosion that applies the Injury debuff and lowers the amount of healing that enemies can receive. Along with his Prism Sword attack, Elder Faerie Cookie protects his enemies with a health shield that is proportional to the maximum health of his allies. As he applies more buffs to the team, the shield will increase in capacity.

The final element of the Guardian’s Valor skill is the Prism Shard, which grants a damage resistance buff to himself and two Cookies with the highest attack (though if White Lily Cookie is on the team, she will always be one of the Cookies who receives this buff). If players upgrade Elder Faerie Cookie’s health with the Beascuit upgrade, more Prism Shards will be applied to more of the team. The charge from the Shard will also heal the Cookie’s health for a brief time. This combo of healing, protection, damage, buffs for allies, and debuffs to enemies makes Elder Faerie a fierce defense Cookie who is a must for those lucky enough to unlock him.
