Unlocking camos, attachments, and gun badges in Battlefield 6 is a time-consuming process, and since the developers nuked bot farm servers in Portal, players are left with little choice but to participate in the game's core modes in order to make meaningful progression. Still, if it feels like leveling up your guns is taking forever, you might want to change your approach. In this Battlefield 6 guide, we'll be going over what you can do to level up your guns as quickly as possible without having to try so hard all the time.
All Camos in Battlefield 6 & How to Get Them
Battlefield 6 brings a unique Mastery Camo grind for players to embark on. Here is how to unlock every camo in Battlefield 6.
How to Get Weapon XP Fast in Battlefield 6
While the simplest answer to this weapon leveling issue is to just play the game normally, the best way to go about doing this is to play only in certain modes and maps. Your choices here are going to depend on the kind of weapon you want to level up.
Close-Medium-Ranged Weapons
If you want to level up SMGs, Carbines, or anything else that thrives within that 30-meter average engagement range, you have two options:
- Play Squad Deathmatch or King of the Hill on any map
- Play Conquest on Siege of Cairo or Empire State
The action in smaller modes like Squad Deathmatch and KotH is much more concentrated, and they're great if you want to test your aim and reflexes against other players. However, they don't last as long as the bigger modes, so you might earn less Weapon XP per match.
Alternatively, you can try Conquest on Empire State for a full-blown, 64-player, infantry-only match. It can get pretty chaotic here, though, and if you're having trouble performing well on Empire State, go to Siege of Cairo instead. The latter map has only two vehicles per team, and its combat zones are well-suited for close-medium-ranged weapons.
You should always consider flanking the enemy when playing on big modes like Conquest. Find the biggest blob of players on the map, then hit the enemy from the sides. Alternatively, find a spot behind enemy lines and cut off any reinforcements that are making their way back to the front. Enemies that are unaware of you make the best targets.
Long-Ranged Weapons
If you want to level up weapons like sniper rifles, machine guns, or anything else designed for distance, then play Conquest/Escalation on New Sobek City. This map features tight lanes and corridors as well as open areas, all of which leave players vulnerable to precision weapons.
Breakthrough on most maps is also great for long-ranged guns. Blackwell Oilfields, Liberation Peak, and Mirak Valley are particularly good for snipers and machine gunners, and if you want to unlock some BF6 weapon challenges, these are excellent maps to try out.
Instead of queuing for Conquest, Escalation, or Breakthrough via the main menu, use the Custom Search filter instead. This lets you pick the modes and maps you want.
Casual Breakthrough
The Casual Breakthrough playlist pits two teams of eight players against each other, but the catch here is that the rest of their teams' slots are filled with bots. As of writing, this playlist only supports the Siege of Cairo and Empire State maps.
Casual Breakthrough is great for players who just want to have a chill time grinding XP and completing challenges. However, do keep in mind that bots give reduced XP. You'll still make progress with your weapons and account, but the actual XP you gain from each match will be much lower compared to a regular PvP match.
