Tale of Immortal gives players the opportunity to select a special passive ability, called a "fate," when they complete a breakthrough into new realms. Depending on the fate a player chooses, it can boost their combat ability, vitality, or energy. Most of these fates have a higher tier, which replaces the previous tier and has more powerful effects.
Some fates boost a character’s chance of learning quickly, while others increase the likability of their character. Still others make them more effective in combat. Since fates are permanent and cannot be changed (aside from a few rewards in the main game), players should know which options are the most useful.
10 Commander Of The Dead
This fate increases the chance of every slain enemy joining the ranks of a player as a Ghost Warrior. They can gain up to two units in Tier 1. Players can get more undead soldiers by upgrading to a higher tier. Tier 2 transforms dead enemies into a player’s Ghost Warrior or Ghost Archer, allowing them to have up to four units. The third tier transforms dead enemies into a Ghost Warrior, Ghost Archer, or a Ghost Mage, and allows players up to six units.
This fate increases a player’s fighting power as each tier increases the number of units in their ranks. This allows the player and their army of undead to overwhelm their enemies with their numbers.
9 War Drum
This fate helps reduce the danger of the enemy that poses the greatest threat to a player. It causes a war drum to appear for 5 seconds next to the opponent who has the highest vitality on the battlefield. It deals damage to every other nearby enemy 7 times per second.
The War Drum also reduces the damage a player receives, reducing the enemy attack strength by 25% provided they are within the radius of the drum. This makes it easier for players to kill their opponents while receiving less damage.
8 Spiritual Sword
This fate allows players to summon a spiritual sword that automatically attacks any enemy within a given radius of the player’s character. However, the damage dealt depends on the player’s Spiritual Root. The Sword also requires the player's energy to attack, so if players don't have enough energy, the sword will not attack anyone. The higher this Fate's tier, the higher the attack radius and damage.
Spiritual Sword is a valuable trait that helps players treduce the number of enemies attacking them. It gives players an advantage in any battle as the sword deals damage to their enemies.
7 Spirit Fusion
This fate increases the chances of a player recasting an ultimate skill or a special skill after having cast it in battle. It gives players a 25% chance of recasting the spell, while dishing out an additional 30% damage to the enemies.
This fate does not include transformation skills, mobility skills, or continuous skills. In Tier 2, players can recast their spells twice after casting it, and can recast three times with Tier 3. However, this fate consumes players' energy to perform.
6 Starlight
This fate activates after a player has killed 25 enemies in a battle. When players cast their ultimate skill, it will produce a blinding light that will stun all the enemies in a radius around them. It deals lightning damage to them and the effect lasts for 30 seconds.
Tier 2 activates after a player kills 50 enemies. Its starlight blinds enemies and its lightning damages enemies, both lasting 30 seconds. This provides the perfect cover for players to attack enemies who are stunned and unable to see.
5 Blood Claw
Players can form a Blood Claw by consuming their vitality for 5 seconds. The Blood Claw explodes upon contact with an enemy and deals damage to other enemies within the radius of the explosion. The amount of damage dealt depends on the player's highest Martial Art.
In Tier 2, the Blood Claw's damage radius increases, and it forms a pool of blood on the ground for 10 seconds, dealing damage to the enemies caught in it while restoring the player's vitality. Tier 3 further increases the radius and the damage dealt by the blood pool.
4 Blood Power
The Blood Power fate allows players to convert 7% of the damage they accumulate into Vitality when they damage enemies within a radius. This allows players to heal as they continue to fight, which increases their chance of winning the battle.
Tier 2 of Blood Power converts 14% of damage to vitality, and increases the effect's radius. The third tier increases the damage-to-vitality conversion to 21%, and increases the radius again.
3 Mysterious Shield
This fate converts a player’s Qi to a protective shield that helps block enemy projectiles from damaging a player. This ensures players will focus on the enemy in front of them, and not have to worry about projectiles launched at them when fighting.
Tier 2 of this fate uses a player’s Qi shield to release a shockwave that deals earth damage to opponents and reduces their agility by 30%. Tier 3 reduces the damage enemies can deal by 25% for 8 seconds after the shockwave knocks them back.
2 Jo’s Flying Sword
This powerful fate transforms a player’s Qi into a flying sword that automatically attacks enemies. This fate does not depend on players' vitality or energy, and it can be upgraded to more powerful attacks.
In Tier 2, the Qi flying sword randomly inflicts one of many effects on the opponent: poison, energy loss, paralysis, or burn. In Tier 3, the flying sword creates inflicts a barrage of attacks on surrounding enemies, dealing random effects.
1 Rain Of Energy
The Rain Of Energy fate increases the player's energy when their energy level drops below 10%. Also, all the cooldown on the character’s skill will clear off giving the player a boost in their fights. Players can only trigger this fate once per battle.
The first tier gives players 60% recovered strength, Tier 2 gives players 80% recovered strength, and Tier 3 completely restores strength. This fate is a cheat code to winning battles, as players can snatch victory from the jaws of defeat with their energy almost exhausted.
