Roleplaying as a combat medic in war games can be one of the most rewarding experiences, and plays completely differently from running around with a gun. It is even more fun in longer games or persistent wars, where a medic's actions on the front line can help hold a position, as soldiers can get up and continue the fight.
Every Main Call Of Duty Campaign, Ranked
From the original Call of Duty to the most recent title, the franchise has enjoyed a history of incredible campaigns... For the most part.
Playing as a war medic is even more inspiring after watching Hacksaw Ridge, which highlights the extraordinary bravery of Desmond Doss in the Pacific War. In some games, it is even perfectly possible to follow in his footsteps as a conscientious objector and carry no weapon.
Foxhole
Hold The Front In Persistent Wars, Where Every Life Saved Matters
Foxhole
Foxhole is an MMO where wars between two sides can last months, with players from around the world always being online to hold or push the fronts. Every piece of equipment is also manufactured and transported by real players, and that includes medical supplies. Additionally, every time a player respawns, they will use up one Soldier Supply (known as shirts), meaning deaths should not be treated lightly.
All of this means that being a medic in Foxhole is one of the most rewarding experiences, especially with how friendly the vast majority of allied players are, with lots of "Thanks, medic" and salutes. As to what medics can actually do, they primarily heal wounds and bleeding with bandages, and they or any other soldiers can pick up downed allies, and then, behind cover, they can be revived with a Trauma Kit and Blood Plasma. These supplies can be transported with ambulances, which can also carry Critically Wounded Soldiers back to a hospital, rewarding the team with more Soldier Supplies. Expect to hear the wounded shouting for a medic or even dying sounds from those more committed to the roleplay. There is even an unofficial Red Cross regiment/clan for unarmed medics.
Battlefield Games
Medics Are One Of The Core Battlefield Classes
Although they are sometimes called Supports, Medics are a core part of the Battlefield experience across all the recent installments. Depending on the game, players can run around to revive and heal their allies with medical syringes and bandages in Battlefield 1 or with a med kit and defibrillator in games with more modern settings.

Players who enjoy an entertaining story can't go wrong with these entries in the Battlefield franchise.
In Battlefield 6, players will also be able to drag their teammates to safety whilst injecting them with adrenaline, adding to the chaos and immersion, which Battlefield games promise. In some game modes, sides have a limited number of spawns, making the medic role crucial and rewarding. It can also be good for roleplaying as a combat medic, as both the characters and players on voice comms call out for a medic.
Arma 3 With The ACE3 Mod
The Most Advanced & Realistic Medical System In War Games
Arma 3
Arma 3 is a great war simulation game in its own right, but the ACE3 mod takes things even further, especially when it comes to medics. Unlike other games, where soldiers have generic wounds that can be healed with bandages, the ACE3 mod implements various types of injuries for different parts of the body.
Upon finding a wounded ally, medics need to assess each part of the body and find the most critical wounds, or they may even need to check for a heartbeat and perform CPR if absent. Medics also have to worry about blood pressure and bone fractures, among other things. Naturally, lots of medical equipment is needed, each with its own uses. Successful treatment is not guaranteed, and everything is so realistic that it helps to be taught by a real medic. This mod would therefore also fit into the genre of games where you play as a doctor.

Hell Let Loose is a gritty, realistic World War 2 game, where players face off in multiplayer FPS battles that also include tanks and artillery. One of the many roles is, of course, that of a medic, with these altering slightly depending on which of the various historical factions is currently being played.
Wounded allies will be marked for those who play with the HUD on, and they can also request medical help via pings, as well as voice comms. Medics can then use bandages to heal their teammates, or if they are downed, they can be revived with syringes. With how spread out the fights can be when compared with other games, such as Battlefield, players will have to do lots of running to be an effective medic, but they will also save the team Manpower Points with each revive.
One For The Future - Medic: Pacific War
An Entire Game About Being A Combat Medic In WW2
If players are interested in playing as a combat medic, then they should keep an eye on Medic: Pacific War. Set during the Second World War in the Pacific, players take on the role of an American medic, starting with the attack on Pearl Harbor. In immersive first or third person, they must avoid danger while seeking the wounded.
With a variety of medical equipment, they can perform immediate actions, perhaps to stem bleeding, but they will then need to drag or carry them to an ambulance or field hospital. At times, players will be forced to make tough choices when multiple wounded need their help, especially when running low on supplies, which must be managed. Expect lots of blood, lost limbs, and the full horrors of the Pacific War as bombs rain down from above. It is also the perfect game for fans of Hacksaw Ridge and the actions of war hero Desmond Doss.
