The Outer Worlds 3

In many ways, The Outer Worlds is essentially Fallout in space, although there are some things that fans should be aware of. A lot of players felt that the game was rather bland at times, with the various hubs feeling somewhat static once players completed all the quests they could find in this location.

If these complaints aren't a huge deal, then fans of New Vegas will love what The Outer Worlds brings to the table. The absurd humor is consistent and will make fans chuckle as they check out this short yet sweet Obsidian Entertainment RPG.

Avowed Press Image 9

Fans were hyped to the moon and back for Avowed, especially since it was set in the glorious Pillars of Eternity universe. While the writing was a step back from the narrative brilliance of Fallout: New Vegas, the game makes up for it with an incredible combat loop.

As long as players don't mind grinding for resources, they should have the equipment they need to deal with the toughest enemies around without breaking a sweat. Avowed's narrative may be a bit too generic for its own good, but Obsidian put a lot of work into ensuring that fans would be happy, even if the game fails to meet the high standards set by New Vegas.

It's easy to lambast Starfield for its paper-thin role-playing opportunities, a major reliance on loading screens, and the reliance on procedural design for unimportant planets. While these issues are severe, fans of Bethesda games can still look past these problems to enjoy a great game.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines

Players who want to check out an RPG set in modern times will love what Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines brings to the table. Just like New Vegas, the game launched in a buggy state and prevented many fans from appreciating the brilliance of this title.

With the Unofficial Patch, players can rectify the majority of issues and enjoy a brilliant vampire RPG with a strong beginning. While the latter half of the game was cut down to meet deadlines, fans of Obsidian Entertainment games will be used to this quality drop-off in the game's latter half and power through to achieve one of many endings.

A huge reason why Fallout: New Vegas was so popular was that it appealed to fans of Fallout who loved the CRPGs that tackled this universe. While the franchise has moved in a different direction, there are still some excellent isometric RPGs fans of Fallout's past can enjoy.

This includes Wasteland 3, a game with tactical combat and an engaging story set in a post-apocalyptic world. Players who want to enjoy a spiritual successor to the old Fallout games will find Wasteland 3 to be right up their alley.
