8 Days Gone Remastered
Another Shot In The Zombie Apocalypse
Days Gone Remastered
- Released

Days Gone was originally released for the PS4 in 2019 as an open-world zombie game. It then got ported to PC platforms in 2021 and, after a long stint of exile, it returned for PS5 via Days Gone Remastered earlier in 2025. It’s not quite a franchise, but given Sony’s attempt to keep it alive despite some layoffs, it’s clear that Days Gone will return in a big way someday. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
- Released
- June 26, 2025
Death Stranding is another big PlayStation game that was released in 2019 with an open-world design. There were also invisible entities known as BTs that could snatch players into another dimension, which is where the horror aspects came into play.
While this title, and its sequel Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, are not full horror games, they have enough juice to make players quake in fear as they try and sneak past these nightmarish horrors. Hideo Kojima’s next game in this series is set to release soon.

Players can expect the same open-area design as inprevious entries, with plenty of parkour freedom to run away from corrupted monstrosities when health and ammo are running light. But even if not much changes, fans are still going to be into it as long as they can shoot and pummel their way through the undead. The game is set to release soon on multiple platforms, so gather a party for launch and let the blood fly.

Silent Hill 2’s remake and Silent Hill: The Short Message brought the series back from the dead in 2024. Konami is keeping up with the revival of one of their most beloved franchises with Silent Hill f, which is set to release in the fall. It’s a new setting for the series, as it takes place in 1960s Japan instead of somewhere within the U.S. Even though it’s a new town, the same things are happening in Ebisugaoka as they did in Silent Hill with monstrous doll-like entities scaring up teens through foggy streets. For many, this is THE horror sequel to keep an eye on in 2025.
