One of the best things about FPS shooters is that in their Multiplayer mode, players are able to fully customize their weapons. Every weapon in Battlefield 6 has a plethora of attachments that players can mix and match based on how they want their weapon to work. Though there is complete freedom in adjusting the attachments, there are loadouts that stand out from the rest, mainly because of how everything adds up.
The M87A1 is the starting shotgun and one that a lot of players will be using quite often. Here are some of the best Battlefield 6 M87A1 loadouts that will make this already powerful weapon shine even more.

The M87A1 is a very reliable shotgun that players can take into every battle. It has the highest damage output of all the shotguns in the game. This is the only shotgun that players can comfortably use for mid-range combat as well, because of the different ammunition, which can make the M87A1 deal with enemies from afar. Its Reload Speed is only 1.167s, which is the lowest out of all the shotguns, allowing you to refill your 8 Buckshot magazine much quicker.
However, this doesn't mean that the weapon does not have any flaws. The shotgun has very low control, meaning that the gun's handling and recoil can be challenging to manage when attempting rapid follow-up shots. The lack of Rate of Fire (ROF) makes fights where you are dealing with multiple enemies at the same time impossible to win. Also, if you are not using the Slugs, then Buckshot is not reliable enough for mid-range combat and must not be used in that way.

The M87A1 is one of the weapons that is already powerful with the base accessories. However, some attachments can make it much better. As you will be using the weapon without the ADS in quite a lot of fights, it's best to increase the Hipfire accuracy, and that is where the Red Laser comes in. The Blue Laser that unlocks on Mastery 15 gives an additional hipfire and mobility boost, so it's best to incorporate it into the loadout. The same case is with the Underbarrel; going with Stippled Stubby makes sense, as you want to reduce the recoil as much as you can.
The Scope and Ammunition are quite important things to consider, mainly because choosing these depends on how you want to use the shotgun. In closed maps with narrow streets, you don't need a long-range scope and can opt for the Buckshot. However, players can also pivot to a long-range shotgun build where they equip the 4x Scope along with the Slugs. This will reduce your total damage, but now you will shoot a single projectile that can one-shot an enemy up to 50 meters if you land a headshot.
When it comes to the Magazine, you will need to decide whether you would prefer more magazine size or better weapon handling and ADS speed. The 7 Shell Tube comes with a magazine size of 8, and even though your ADS speed will go down, being able to hold down a point or rush into multiple enemies without having to worry about reloading early can make a huge difference.
