Summary

  • Raid: Shadow Legends offers deep lore and diverse Affinities for maximum Champion army building.
  • Age of Magic provides players with strategic battles, fantasy events, and rewards in a rewarding progression system.
  • Dislyte, like Raid: Shadow Legends, is a gatcha game, giving more upgrades and rewards to players.

Raid: Shadow Legends is set in a deep, dark dystopian universe whereby players build their Champion army as efficiently and effectively as possible. As long as players fully understand the lore behind the four different Affinities, the sky's the limit with what they can achieve and explore in the game.

Raid Shadow Legends: 7 Champions That Are Easy To Max Skills For

Raid Shadow Legends gives new players a range of free champions, and some of them are very easy to skill up, often without using skill books.

Raid: Shadow Legends is the ultimate turn-based game steeped in fantasy. The length and breadth of adventure, especially considering it's a mobile game, does take some beating. However, there is a selection of mobile games that, whilst they do not emulate RSL, do share similar engaging qualities.

Set in a disastrous, dystopian world, Age of Magic sends all manner of monsters the player's way. Even though the visuals of Raid: Shadow Legends are hard to beat, this game is certainly a strong contender. In Age of Magic, players immerse themselves in a cross-over world hidden somewhere between magic and all-out war.

Firmly based in the fantasy realm, this game is a long-term play, with slow yet highly rewarding progression. Age of Magic has both a campaign for players to battle steadily against and the opportunity to fight other players and their teams as often as they desire.

Best Mobile Games With Controller
The 27 Best Mobile Games With Controller Support

There are some great games out there that were built for mobile devices but support console controllers. Here's a look at some of the best.

6 Waven

An Oceanic Odyssey

Waven's eye-catching graphics dripping in color and contrast are a treat for the player from the very beginning of the game. Twelve, the world Waven is set, has been entirely flooded, with only a selection of smaller islands being the sole survivors. The magnificent odyssey players embark upon takes them between factions and territories, tiny islets, and larger nations. The captain is the hero; the player.

To avoid beginner traps (of which there are far fewer than in Raid: Shadow Legends), players must make sure to save valuable spell upgrades for when they become more established as a hero.

5 Dislyte

Defend The Cityscape

A role-playing game set in the near future, Dislyte focuses upon the Seeker (the player) and their quest to defend the cityscape and the country of Grandis as a whole. Switch on story mode, for at least the first playthrough, and Seekers will level-up more effectively and gain valuable experience in the process. Even though there is not a comprehensive in-game map of the world, in the case of Dislyte this is actually a good thing. This way, players can create their own theories as to why, for instance, the provinces of Greywater and Tangton are entirely outside of mainland rule.

Like Raid: Shadow Legends, Dislyte is firmly a gatcha game, but the general consensus among regular players is that the latter is far more giving when it comes to upgrading and beating daily log-in records.

Available on mobile, these RPGs won't try to fleece players with microtransactions. Simply sit back and enjoy.

4 Dragonheir: Silent Gods

Assemble Your Men

Dragonheir: Silent Gods' artwork alone is seriously something to impress a player and certainly competes with Raid: Shadow Legends. The tutorial, The Child of Chaos, is a seriously impressive boss fight which, wait for it, comes at the end of the tutorial, before gameplay starts.

Even the campaign, a feature of most games in this genre, is different from the norm. Dragonheir: Silent Gods showcases a huge range of challenges for each campaign of the day and there are a range of codes readily available. Another outstanding feature of the game is that side quests and challenges are hidden inside the game, rather than all available to play at the start.

3 Summoners War: Sky Arena

A Monster's Fantasy

Summoners War: Sky Arena takes place in a monster-filled futuristic fantasy world. A small group of humans inhabit the planet along with the monsters and call themselves the Summoners.

Unlike many other mobile games in the monster genre, Summoners War: Sky Arena has the Summoners control the monsters and battle them against each other. Many in the gaming community assume that Raids: Shadow Legends was the main inspiration for the game, without emulating the former's mercy system. It's also worth highlighting that the graphics in Summoners War: Sky Arena fall slightly short of Raid: Shadow Legends.

Marvel Strike Force brings together the most powerful characters from across the Marvel universe to battle and, ultimately, defeat Boundless. The beauty of the game lies in the fact that the player can mix it up between the legendary heroes of the franchise and conversely, the most infamous villains.

Among the gaming community, there is often a great deal of speculation as to which is better, Marvel: Strike Force or Raid: Shadow Legends. The former has more expanded character histories and far more training modules, but the latter does have more impressive combat graphics.

As long as potential players are not members of the ever-decreasing group who 'have never seen Star Wars', then Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is definitely for them. The pool of potential characters available to collect from ranges across the franchise. Said pool includes the original trilogy, the sequel trilogy, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars to name just a few.

Like Raid: Shadow Legends, team building lies at the heart of the game, and the more strategic planning and logical placement players invest in, the better the results. Although they are both firm gatcha games, it has to be said that Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has more regularly updated content and more opportunities to upgrade for free.
