Among all the kunai and curse marks that can be found in the world of Naruto, the story's main themes of friendship and mutual understanding tend to rise above it all. This is why it's great that many games featuring everybody's favorite knuckleheaded ninja offer multiplayer, helping players build bonds with those around them.
10 Naruto Games You Might Not Know Exist
Naruto is a massive franchise of manga, anime, and video games, but many fans may not have ever heard of these more obscure titles.
While a lot of games in the Naruto franchise offer some kind of multiplayer, they often fail to iterate from entry to entry. However, a number of them have managed to overcome this by giving fans the chance to embody their favorite ninjas and to create some fierce memories with friends. What follows are the best multiplayer Naruto games out there.
5 Naruto: The Broken Bond
Naruto: The Broken Bond
- Released
- November 18, 2008
- Developer(s)
- Ubisoft Montreal
- Platform(s)
- Xbox 360
Despite not really hitting upon release, The Broken Bond tends to be looked back on fondly these days. While its combat isn't the deepest it could be, the game sports some incredibly cinematic combat, full of fun mini-games played when pulling off powerful attacks.
Player 2 doesn't have to just take the beating, though. In fact, both players take a very active role in just about every aspect of combat, keeping both players engaged while creating some wild back-and-forths between them.
4 Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections
Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections
- Released
- November 17, 2023
- Developer(s)
- CyberConnect2
- Platform(s)
- PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One
Connections' massive roster is made up of a number of powerful characters who can hold their own in a fight, as well as a few who shouldn't even try, but who still mean a lot to Naruto's vast history. There are a few notable omissions, though. No Anko? No Chojuro?
Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections: 10 Best Characters, Ranked
These characters stand out among the rest in Naruto X Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections.
Still, with so many characters, the nuance between their movesets and fighting styles tends to get lost. Despite this, Connections is still a great option to experience the fun gameplay that Ninja Storm has offered for over 15 years, especially with a friend.
3 Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3
Naruto: Clash Of Ninja Revolution III
The Best Fighter On Wii!
- 35 characters from the Shippuden storyline
- New and improved gameplay mechanics
- Released
- February 22, 2007
- Developer(s)
- Eighting
- Platform(s)
- Wii
It's not a stretch to call this some of the most high-flying action in a Naruto game, especially when players are literally flinging each other into entirely different stages mid-match. This is part of the reason why Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 stands as one of the most fun in the series, helped along by its hefty roster of characters (including a few original to the game) that players use to engage in tag-team brawls.
Players can even fight on the same team, swapping in and out with their partners as they choose. Aspects like this work in conjunction with Wii's movement controls to help make players feel like they are truly carrying out a mission with their fellow ninjas.
2 Naruto: Ultimate Ninja 3
- Release Date: December 22, 2005
- Developer: CyberConnect2
- Platform(s): PlayStation 2
The original Ultimate Ninja series of fighters may share the same name and a few key features with its 3D counterpart, but that's about where the similarities end. Ultimate Ninja 3 is a shining example of this, as it's a 2D fighter with a heavily manga-inspired art style, spanning the entirety of the original Naruto storyline.
8 Best PS2 Anime Games, Ranked
The PS2 had a nice selection of anime games that are still worth remembering today.
Players choose their special as well as which ninja tools to take into battle, where they will scale walls and scramble along rock faces across 20 stages. But where each fight really gets interesting, especially when playing with a friend, is when it's time to put those ultimates to work. It's in these moments that fans are treated to some incredibly cool interpretations of fan-favorite jutsu, with moments that are ripped straight from the black and white panels that inspired them.

Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Full Burst is the pinnacle of the series when it comes to multiplayer. It's the culmination of 3 previous Storm games, each making minor tweaks to their fairly simple fighting mechanics, to allow for some of the most intense battles in a Naruto game.
While it doesn't have the most characters in a Naruto fighter, there are still 81 ninjas to choose from here. Combat is also the most polished it's been since the Storm series' inception, and includes many of the features that fans have grown to appreciate, like the limited number of substitutions and health bars for support characters.
