As part of its latest financial report, Nintendo has highlighted seven Switch exclusives set to launch in the final months of 2024 and throughout 2025. Many Nintendo fans are anxiously awaiting news on the Switch successor console, but it's looking like they will have to wait until next year to get their first glimpse of the highly-anticipated device.

While fans wait for Switch successor news, Nintendo is keeping its attention squarely on the existing Switch console. In its latest financial report, Nintendo revealed an updated list of the 10 best-selling Switch games, how many units the current family of Switch consoles has sold, and some of the upcoming games that fans can look forward to in 2024 and beyond.

The seven games Nintendo highlighted were Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. Out of these, Donkey Kong Country, Pokemon Legends, and Metroid Prime 4 are all releasing in 2025, while the rest will be released one month at a time in 2024.

Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games List

  • Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club - August 29
  • The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom - September 26
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree - October 17
  • Mario & Luigi: Brothership - November 7
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns HD - January 16
  • Pokemon Legends: Z-A - TBA 2025
  • Metroid Prime 4: Beyond - TBA 2025

First up is Emio - The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club, a visual novel adventure game that's set to launch on August 29. Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will follow on September 26, while Super Mario Party Jamboree's release date is set for October 17. Mario & Luigi: Brothership is coming out on November 17, and Donkey Kong Country Returns HD has nailed down a January 16 release date. Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4 are currently without specific release dates or even real release windows, but the latter is expected to be out at some point in the second half of 2025.

The Metroid Prime 4 release window was potentially narrowed down by the same Nintendo financial report, which indicated that the game was set for the next fiscal year, ending in March 2026. This has led fans to the conclusion that Metroid Prime 4 will be released at some point between April 2025 and December 2025, barring any unexpected delays, of course. Regardless, Nintendo is ensuring that the Switch goes out with a bang, and it will be exciting to see what else the home console/handheld hybrid has in store in the months ahead.
