Summary
- Goat Simulator 3 allows players to control a super-powered goat and be as stupid as possible.
- Grand Theft Auto 5 lets players go on chaotic rampages in its reactive open world.
- Bully's sandbox lets players enjoy being a troublemaking idiot in the game's school setting.
Most video games encourage players to make smart decisions both in and out of combat. After all, playing like a fool will lead to a swift game over and compel players not to make the same mistake a second time around.
8 Open-World Games With The Best Introductions, Ranked
These open-world games waste no time in introducing players to a lasting first impression that shows them the good time they're in for.
However, some open-world games revel in the idea of letting players go ballistic in their worlds and act as stupidly as they can. This leads to some hilarious moments that elevate the memorability of these sandboxes in the eyes of many.

Goat Simulator 3

- Genre(s)
- Simulation, Adventure
Despite being a sequel to the first game, the name Goat Simulator 3 should make it clear that this game does everything but take itself seriously. Controlling a goat with a super-powered tongue that can latch onto anything is way more engaging than fans give it credit for.
Sure, there are some puzzles and the like where players must use their brainpower to unlock these rewards, but the bulk of the game encourages people to be as stupid as possible. Crashing into cars, being a menace to NPCs, and uncovering ridiculously dumb secrets are huge parts of what makes Goat Simulator 3 such a blast to play.

8 Best Games to Play Chaotic Evil
From Tyranny’s dark empire to GTA 5’s Trevor-fueled chaos, these games let players embrace villainy, betrayal, and unhinged destruction.
Being a nutjob who crashes into NPCs and antagonizes everyone in sight is more fun than it has any right to be. Sure, the cops will come to put a stop to this public nuisance, but all players need to do is hide from them and lose their Wanted Level before becoming stupid all over again.
5 Bully
Avoiding Classes And Picking Fights With Everyone Is Stupid Yet Entertaining
Bully
- Released
- October 17, 2006
- ESRB
- T For Teen due to Crude Humor, Language, Sexual Themes, Use of Alcohol and Tobacco, Violence
- Genre(s)
- Sandbox
Jimmy Hopkins is the very definition of a truant who hates going to school and following rules. He hates being enrolled in Bullworth Academy, but this school and its people will resonate with this troublemaker, especially when he needs to take revenge on a supposed friend for taking advantage of him.
The best part about Bully's sandbox is that Jimmy can be a total idiot, which is a ton of fun. Punching people more than twice his weight, skipping class, getting in trouble with prefects, and being a nuisance to everyone in sight is pretty entertaining, and makes it clear why this game became the center of controversy, like most other Rockstar games at the time.
4 Yakuza: Like A Dragon

Yakuza: Like A Dragon
- Released

Sometimes, protagonists don't need to be smart and cool people to resonate with audiences. This can be seen in Yakuza: Like a Dragon, where the main character is a huge part of what makes this game so special, despite being a naive idiot more often than not.
He blindly trusts people and gets stabbed in the back multiple times, even if the stories behind some of these betrayals go deeper than fans would assume. Ichiban's goofy nature is highlighted in the game's substories, which are hilarious and do a great job of living up to Yakuza's legacy of letting fans enjoy some of the most bizarre side content they can see in a video game.
3 Disco Elysium
Roleplaying As A Detective With An IQ Level Comparable To A Plank Of Wood Is Hilarious
Disco Elysium
- Released
- October 15, 2019

- M For Mature 17+ due to Blood, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, Use of Drugs, Violence
- Genre(s)
- RPG
Disco Elysium is one of the best open-world RPGs of all time, with the district of Martinaise and the outskirts of Revachol serving as the backdrop for a compelling murder mystery, investigated by the capable Kim Kitsuragi and one of the biggest bumbling fools in gaming history.
Best Open-World Games That Gradually Open Up, Ranked
In these games, the player's world slowly expands as they progress the story and build their character.
Seeing the main character wake up from a bender so immense that he lost all his memories makes it clear just how stupid he is, and players will love leaning into his dumb and pathetic side during the investigation. However, it becomes increasingly clear that the detective in question is also very good at his job, despite his eccentric ways.
2 Fallout: New Vegas
With Low Intelligence, The Courier's Responses Become Entertainingly Dumb
Fallout: New Vegas
- Released
- October 19, 2010
- ESRB
- M for Mature: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Sexual Content, Strong Language, Use of Drugs
- Genre(s)
- RPG
One of the biggest reasons why players love Fallout: New Vegas is how it lets players roleplay as whatever they want. This includes the act of controlling a Courier with Intelligence so low that he becomes a special brand of stupid.
It's hilarious to see the protagonist struggle to grasp basic concepts, with NPCs reacting to his stupidity in hilarious ways. It's a viable playthrough despite the Courier's lack of intelligence and will give players yet another reason to explore the Mojave.
1 Red Dead Redemption 2
Turning Arthur Into A Moron Is More Entertaining Than It Has Any Right To Be
Red Dead Redemption 2
- Released
- October 26, 2018
Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the greatest open-world games ever made that needs no introduction. The immersion in this world is incredible, with Arthur being molded in the player's image to become either an honorable hero or a horrible rogue.
In the case of the latter, players must do and say a lot of stupid things in the game world. Insulting every NPC, wreaking havoc in towns, talking back to lawmen, and not wearing a mask while committing crimes are just a few of the many ways Arthur can be uncharacteristically stupid in this game.
