Tools and weapons are a part of every Firebreaker's kit in FBC: Firebreak. They'll serve everyone well at first, but as soon as players start taking on more difficult jobs, they'll need the help of perks to get the upper hand.

Perks, which can be unlocked via the Research tab in the main menu, offer a variety of useful bonuses that apply passively. Every player in FBC: Firebreak should take advantage of perks when they can, but since they cost Samples to unlock, players will need to be wise when it comes to choosing which perks to get first.

FBC: Firebreak is a big swing for Remedy Entertainment that's definitely worthy of a few cheers.

Best Perks in FBC: Firebreak

FBC Firebreak Best Perks

While all perks provide good quality-of-life improvements, some are just outright essential, especially on Extreme Threat. These will give you the best chance of surviving a job even while hordes upon hordes of Hiss are descending on your crew. However, given the limited perk slots available, players will still need to weigh their options.

Must-Have Perks in FBC: Firebreak

Perk

Effect

Slide Hustle

Significantly increases the reload speed of your weapons. Simple and effective, especially for weapons like the Bolt-Action Rifle, Revolver, and Double-Barrel Shotgun.

Elbow Grease

Tools fix stuff faster. Great for jobs where lots of objectives need fixing, like Hot Fix or Frequency Shift.

Rapid Response

Manually fixing stuff is faster. You won't always have the right tool for the job, so having faster hands will help out a lot.

Covered

Your shields regenerate faster after you damage an enemy. You'll be dealing and taking a lot of damage during a job, so you might as well keep yourself topped off.

Iron Liver

You become more resistant to harmful condition buildup. Considering how there's always some sort of harmful condition in a mission, you'll want to make yourself more resistant to them.

Optional Perks

These perks aren't as necessary for survival compared to the previous ones, but they will make fighting much easier. Consider these your buildcrafting perks — they'll work best if you have a specific playstyle or effect combo in mind.

Must-Have Perks in FBC: Firebreak

Perk

Effect

Greasy Fingers

Swap between your gun and tool faster. This is great for Jump or Splash Kit users who want to take advantage of their tools' elemental effects.

Pocket Dimension

Increases your ammo reserves. Great for SMG and Machine Gun users, or anyone with an itchy trigger finger.

Blazing Speed

Run faster while burning. Works well when you really need to take a shower for the flames, or if you really want to move faster.

Wet Rounds

Bullets have a chance to make your targets Wet, making them vulnerable to elemental combos with Shock or Cold damage.

Black Rock Rounds

Bullets have a chance to inflict Neutralize, which disorients Hiss and removes paranatural effects from Corrupted items. Good for crowd-control and as an emergency tool for when you really need to take a Corrupted object down.

Murder Charges

Killing enemies charges your parautility (i.e. Ultimate ability). Excellent choice Fix and Jump Kit users who love their piggy banks and gnomes.

Wet Rounds is best paired with either Black Rock, Electric, or Cold Rounds (or all of them).

The rest of the unmentioned perks are still useful, but they're either too situational or too specific for certain builds (such as Heavy Handed and Desperate Measures, which could make for a good melee build). However, we do recommend taking an Enemy and Crew perk of your choice.
