18 Pokemon Jukebox
A Pokemon Music Streaming Service
- Release Date: June 23, 2015
- Developer: The Pokemon Company
- Platforms: Android
Pokemon Jukebox was a music streaming service that allowed fans to listen to soundtracks from Pokemon games, which was a great idea in theory. However, users were limited to just three free songs per day, while they could purchase music to listen to without restrictions.
The app lasted only a year, largely due to the popularity of services like Spotify and YouTube, where these songs could be accessed without any limitations. In today's world, an app like Pokemon Jukebox would struggle to succeed given the convenience of music available on smartphones.

15 Pokemon Playhouse
Aimed At The Younger Generation
- Release Date: September 21, 2017
- Developer: The Pokemon Company
- Platforms: Android and iOS
Pokemon Playhouse is a game meant to introduce children to the world of Pokemon in the form of educational content that helps develop their motor skills. The game features multiple small mini-games players can partake in, with no real way of "losing." Players can groom Pokemon using brushes to straighten their hair, a sponge to clean dirt off or apply a bandage if they're hurt, and more. The visuals help identify what the problem with each Pokemon is, allowing kids to learn by doing.
Feeding is a visual learning mini-game that works by showing the players which berry a Pokemon prefers before the timer starts and then giving each Pokemon the type of berry they like from a plate on a conveyor belt as it moves across the screen. There is also a connect-the-dots mini-game that reveals the figure of a Pokemon, reminiscent of the 'Who's that Pokemon?' Segment from the original TV show. As a reward for completing these mini-games, a new egg hatches, introducing a new Pokemon to the Playhouse.

The 16 Best Mobile Games Of All Time
Mobile gaming has made great strides, but ever since the beginning, it has given users some incredible gems.
The children’s education app is available on Android and iOS. It encourages kids to brush their teeth daily to brighten their smiles. Pokemon Smile rewards children with decorative Pokemon Caps that can be placed on their heads to take fun photos with the family. Unlike Pokemon GO, people can only play Pokemon Smile in their bathrooms, limiting its usability. Children need an adult around them to brush their teeth safely on the app to avoid mishaps. Pokemon walking around the jawline can easily flee, drastically decreasing the amount of Pokemon that Trainers can catch on Pokemon Smile.
12 Pokemon Sleep
A Sleep Tracking App With The Fun Of Pokemon
Pokemon Sleep

- July 17, 2023
Pokemon Sleep is a sleep-tracking app incentivizing users to sleep longer and better unlock new 'Sleep styles,' a mechanic unique to this app. Each time a user sleeps, the app tries to match the nature of the sleep with the 'Sleep Style' of a Pokemon. For example, if a night was particularly restful, users may be greeted with a 'Squirtle Sheltered Sleep' which is a Slumbering Sleep style, but if there were lots of tossing and turning, they'd likely get a 'Primeape Angry Sleep,' which is a Dozing Sleep style.
Players start with a small group of Pokemon in the app, and new Pokemon are unlocked as users use the app and achieve certain milestones. Achieving a high sleep score increases the chance of receiving a shiny or rare Pokemon. The sleep score is determined by the quality of the sleep cycle and how much Snorlax, the mascot of the app, is fed during the day.

Several sequels followed, including the latest entry, Pokemon Rumble Rush, which introduced the concept to mobile devices for the first time. This changed in 2010 with the launch of the Pokemon TV website, followed by a mobile app in 2013. Fans could watch episodes and movies of the anime whenever they wanted, allowing them to enjoy the content at their leisure.
Unlike many other apps, Pokemon TV enjoyed a long run before shutting down in 2024. However, fans didn’t lose everything, as Pokemon TV transitioned to YouTube. Currently, only the first Kanto adventures are available there, with full episodes being updated regularly.
