When Postal 3 was released in 2011, many players that attempted the third-person shooter felt the running joke and infamous controversial humor of Running With Scissors had got old. Even partnering with Akella appeared unable to save Postal 3 as many couldn't find much entertainment in this edgy title.

Players had a simple choice to make while playing that allowed them to either follow a path of being good or being insane. This lead to some wild moments both in and out of combat. However, with Postal 3 seemingly having no actual goal, it fell on deaf ears.

It would appear that Running With Scissors still hadn't learned their lesson when releasing Postal 3, as when Postal 4 was published 11 years later, many fans continued to have a disinterest in the title. Granted, it was reviewed a little better than the previous game in the series.

Many fans and critics still found that the game was incredibly broken, even if the story was a little better. Arguably part of the charm and why Running With Scissors continues to publish Postal may be due to how terrible it is, as the developers take pride in it being viewed as the worst game ever.

While Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend isn't its own standalone game, it is an expansion of Postal 2 that deserves to be discussed. To many player's disappointment –or approval– it is revealed in the Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend DLC, that Postal Dude didn't actually die at the end of the second Postal.

Exploring the town, he is attacked by mad-cow infected zombies and the rest of the DLC sees the Postal Dude attempting to escape town while also setting off plenty of bombs.

While Postal 2 may be deemed by some to be the worst game ever, it surprisingly showed some promise when it was first released in 2003. Back then, the theme of Postal was still fresh as players explored a dark caricature of America that was only as violent as the player wished to be with it.

Many of the gimmicks within the game are not to be taken seriously, as Postal 2 is considered to be a funnier game than its predecessor. It still continues to have heaps of mindless violence that some may not enjoy, but others are sure to have a blast with. In many ways, Postal 2 is the definition of a minor cult classic, and it is still a fun open-world game more than 20 years after its debut.

As mentioned due to the controversy that surrounded the original Postal, the ending of the game was changed for the 2016 version that was released. This version of Postal was a high-definition remake of the original.

Besides allowing players to repeat levels in the hope of getting a higher ranking and, therefore, a better score. Postal Redux came with a 4-player co-op mode that allowed players to take part in the violence with friends so that everyone could be their own Postal Dude. This still wasn't enough to beat the original ranking, but it still impressed players.

While not the greatest ranked Postal game out of the series, the original Postal still sees itself rated rather highly by players. Since releasing in 1997, the original isometric shooter can now be played for free on Steam with the game's source being released at the end of 2016 and the game itself becoming freeware in 2019.

Postal 2: Share the Pain was the first DLC to be released for the second entry in the franchise, and it surprisingly ranked higher by both critics and players. As seen with Postal Redux the capability of playing the game with others increased the enjoyment of the series and the same could be said about the power of this DLC.

With Share the Pain, players were able to take part in the bloody combat of Postal 2 with their friends. This added four game modes for players to enjoy with friends, including DeathMatch, Team DeathMatch, Snatch, and Grab. Besides this, it also added a new weapon and two new areas for players to explore.

Surprisingly, out of all the Postal games that have been published over the years, the highest-rated and most loved of the series was a game that wasn't even developed by Running With Scissors. Postal: Brain Damaged took what was most loved about the original Postal franchise and added modern gameplay that was sure to impress past fans of the game.

Hyperstrange proved that it was still possible to make a dark humor Postal title that would be approved of by both players and critics. It continues to have its silly moments while keeping to a goal that has many players hoping for more Postal games from these developers.
