Summary

  • Some highly-rated games are leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium on June 17.
  • This includes highly-rated games like Inscryption, Monster Hunter Rise, and Rogue Legacy 2.
  • Time is running out for PS Plus subscribers that want to play these games with their subscriptions.

PlayStation Plus subscribers who are signed up for the Extra or Premium tier will want to prioritize some games over others. Every month, games are removed from the PlayStation Plus' Extra and Premium libraries. Unlike the PS Plus Essential games, the games removed from Extra and Premium are no longer accessible to subscribers when they get the boot.

This has resulted in some devastating PS Plus updates as of late. The latest PS Plus Extra and Premium update removed 22 games, leaving many subscribers to voice their frustrations online. The good news is that the games leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium in June 2025 are far fewer than the ones that left in May, but the bad news is that the service is losing some of its highest-rated games.

PS Plus Bad Day Came at the Absolute Worst Time

PlayStation Plus recently suffered one of its worst days to date, and it couldn't have come at a worse time for the subscription service.

On June 17, PS Plus will be losing After Us, AVICII Invector, Inscryption, Kayak VR: Mirage, Monster Hunter Rise, and Rogue Legacy 2. Out of these, the three highest-rated games are Inscryption (86), Monster Hunter Rise (87), and Rogue Legacy 2 (89). All three games earned critical acclaim and are titles that PlayStation Plus subscribers should prioritize before they're removed.

PlayStation Plus Games Leaving Soon

  • After Us
  • AVICII Invector
  • Inscryption
  • Kayak VR: Mirage
  • Monster Hunter Rise
  • Rogue Legacy 2

Inscryption, Monster Hunter Rise, and Rogue Legacy 2 being highly-rated is reason enough to play them all while they're still available in the PS Plus Extra and Premium library, but subscribers will also want to take their "time to beat" into consideration. According to How Long to Beat, Inscryption takes an average of 12.5 hours, Monster Hunter Rise takes about 23 hours to beat, and is finished in an average of 26.5 hours. Inscryption and Rogue Legacy 2 are both roguelike games, and so how long it takes to beat them does have some element of luck to consider. Regardless, there should be enough time to beat all three of them depending on how much free time one has, and so hopefully PS Plus subscribers can get through the departing games all before they're removed on June 17.

For those that own a PlayStation VR2 headset, they may also want to play Kayak VR: Mirage. Kayak VR: Mirage is an impressive VR graphical showcase and, unfortunately, marks yet another virtual reality title getting removed from the PS Plus Premium lineup.

Of course, those that have the time are encouraged to play through all the PS Plus Extra and Premium games before they leave on June 17. With the PS Plus May 2025 update proving to be such a devastating blow to the service, it will be interesting to see what titles are added to replace the six leaving in June.
