Sony's PlayStation 5 remains one of the hottest consoles on the market, and that's thanks to the system's impressive library of games. The PlayStation 5 has access to PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP, and PS4 games on top of PS5-only games, ensuring that owners of the console are always spoiled for choice.
Most PS5 gamers likely have a huge backlog of games they're working through - something that's certainly not helped by the constant stream of new game releases. New PS5 games are released all the time, ranging from high-profile, big-budget games to lower-scale indies. There's always something to play on the PS5, but the question is, what should PS5 gamers dedicate their time to every weekend?
The Biggest PS5 Game File Sizes (& How Many GB They Take Up)
The PS5 has some huge games. These are the biggest so far, and just how many GB they take up!
This weekend isn't a long one like the 4th of July holiday last week, but gamers should hopefully still be able to find plenty of time to play PS5 games. Those looking for something to play should consider checking out these five titles, ranging from brand-new releases to older games that have recently received updates to titles that may be worth playing through again before their new entries come out in the weeks and months ahead.
Astro Bot
Astro Bot took home the coveted Game of the Year award at The Game Awards 2024, and for good reason. The adorable 3D platformer serves as a love letter to PlayStation's history, while simultaneously featuring a huge selection of wildly inventive levels that make great use of the DualSense controller's unique features. Astro Bot was a Game of the Year-worthy game out of the box, but Team Asobi has continued to release free updates to keep fans coming back for more. The latest Astro Bot update is out now and gives players the chance to tackle five more levels on top of all the other ones readily available in the game. Those that have yet to play should consider devoting their weekend to fully completing Astro Bot, while those that already have the Plat should come back and check out the five new levels added to the Vicious Void Galaxy.

EA Sports College Football 26
EA's college football franchise was dormant for over a decade, but it finally made a comeback last year in the form of EA Sports College Football 25. College Football 25's return was nothing short of triumphant, smashing sales records and earning enough positive reviews to become one of the year's highest-rated sports games. Based on early accounts, EA Sports College Football 26 seems to build on what came before, delivering a bigger and better college football gaming experience. College football fans probably don't need any other game to play this weekend, and it will be interesting to see if College Football 26 can match the sales of its predecessor.

Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut
Ghost of Tsushima is one of the better open world games released for the PS4, and it has a native PS5 version for fans to check out as well. Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut improves the performance of the original game and bundles the Iki Island expansion with the base game for good measure. Ghost of Yotei is launching on October 2, and while it is set hundreds of years after Tsushima's story, fans should still consider replaying the original for old time's sake before the sequel drops later this year. This is especially so for those that only ever played Ghost of Tsushima on PS4 and have never checked out the game's PS5 upgrades.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3, is launching on August 28. With the Snake Eater remake's launch a little over a month away at this point, now is the perfect time to replay the franchise from the beginning. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 features the first two Metal Gear games, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, and the original Snake Eater. Personally, I am playing the games through Sons of Liberty, but instead of playing the original Snake Eater, waiting for the remake to drop at the end of August. Regardless, the Metal Gear games are timeless stealth adventures that hold up to this day and are always good for another playthrough.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4
As far as new game releases go, it's hard to beat Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 this weekend. Pro Skater 3 + 4 combines levels, skaters, and missions from the third and fourth Pro Skater games and presents them in a shiny new package with vastly improved graphics. There is some controversy over how the collection handles Pro Skater 4's Career mode, but otherwise Pro Skater 3 + 4 reviews have been solid. If nothing else, it should be good for a nostalgic trip down memory lane for longtime fans of the series.
