Sea of Thieves reigns supreme as it's the most popular PS5 game for the month of April in Europe. The Rare-developed live service game has outperformed the likes of Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade for the region, taking the number one spot. What makes Sea of Thieves even more of a treasure is that it performed this feat within just one day of release on April 30.
Ever since the game's launch, there have been over 15 million pirates out in the open seas. That number has likely escalated much further, thanks to the game's launch on PS5. Sea of Thieves has been one of Xbox's highest points during the last few tumultuous console generations.

Despite the game's popularity in Europe, Sea of Thieves took third place in North America (excluding Mexico) behind Helldivers 2 and the controversial Stellar Blade. The success of Sea of Thieves on PS5 doesn't help weather the storm Xbox is currently going through. Microsoft shut down four studios on Tuesday, including the beloved developer Tango Gameworks, which released the stellar Hi-Fi Rush. Arkane Austin (Redfall), Alpha Dog Games (Mighty DOOM), and Roundhouse Studios were also shut down. Thankfully, some Roundhouse Studios developers will be hired by Zenimax Online Studios. Understandably, fans have been upset at Xbox's decision to fire its talent, especially after Xbox's Aaron Greenberg called Hi-Fi Rush a "break-out hit."
