A sequel to My Summer Car, My Winter Car expands considerably on its predecessor, introducing dozens of new mechanics and a change of season that amounts to way more than just snow. Although you are the same character from the first game, they are now older and, consequently, need to be more independent. After setting up your driver's license, you are dropped into your Finnish home without much in the way of guidance, and it is your responsibility to step out into the world and explore.
My Winter Car is way more challenging than you might think at a glance, and it will be a long time before you start upgrading your car to the point that you can take part in races. You can (and will) die, and you might even lose your progress if you do not turn off the permadeath feature when you start a playthrough. Although billed as a sim, the game is still 100% part of the survival genre, and it is a pretty stressful one at that.
