Lost was a cultural phenomenon. Love it or hate it, there is no denying its reach, popularity, and enduring legacy as one of the most successful shows of all time. Debuting in 2004 and becoming a hit fairly quickly due to a bombastic opening episode, Lost starts with a plane crashing and landing on a seemingly deserted island, forcing the passengers to fend for themselves away from society. Initially, the series might seem to tell a survivor-type story, but it gradually reveals itself to be a twist-driven mystery epic that loves to throw out questions (and, occasionally, an answer). The first three seasons are almost universally loved, while the following three are considerably more polarizing. Lost also ends with one of the most divisive finales in TV history, a reaction that has arguably helped fuel its legacy.
10 Best Friendships In Lost, Ranked
Lost is most famous for its mind-boggling mysteries, but behind all that were some great characters who formed unlikely and meaningful friendships.
Bolstered by a fantastic and well-rounded cast, Lost is, ultimately, a singular experience, even if it is far from perfect. Since 2010, fans have been yearning to find something new that could fill that Lost-shaped hole in their hearts. Honestly, there are not too many options out there, but we have received a fair few great mystery series in the last few years. If you loved Lost, check out these shows.
