Tanya is a complex character and this is what makes her such an interesting figure to think about and watch. Tanya is for all intents and purposes an evil individual who would watch others die with little remorse. But, her internal monologues are quite interesting as she values freedom of will to do as she pleases.

She also acts as a model soldier and is able to inspire loyalty and fear from those around her. There’s also the very obvious fact that having the appearance of a cute little girl sometimes belies her true ability to be terrifying. Tanya is impossible to pin down as a character and this is why she’s such a great one.

Discover the rich mythology behind Spirited Away, exploring its deep roots in Shintoism, Japanese folklore, and universal themes of transformation.

Haku is a good case of letting a person’s actions define them rather than what is said about them. Haku has been mentioned as a character not to be trusted in the movie, however, he shows himself to be true to his word and his support of Chihiro through her travels vindicates him as a good character.

GATE is an anime that not everyone remembers fondly especially due to its depiction of the Japanese military and their activities in the isekai world. It also featured a protagonist that some consider dangerously forgettable and the typical isekai harem tropes.

But, it does feature a pretty fun mage in Lelei Laleina who, on the surface, is the cool, calm, and collected archetype who doesn’t speak and hardly shows emotions. But Lelei is about more than that, as was seen in her battle against the fire dragon, where she let slip her dark delight at being able to hurt the dragon. While stiff on the surface, Leilei suggests that there is so much more under the hood.

In a list of the most powerful isekai mages, it would be difficult to look past Ainz Ooal Gown as someone to place at the top of the list, but this doesn’t necessarily make him an interesting character.

Re:Zero – Every Main Character's Age, Height, And Birthday

Re:Zero features a wonderful cast of colorful and well realized protagonists. Here's everything you need to know about the series' central characters.

While powerful, Roswaal’s personality draws people in. From his attire which makes him look like a jester and will remind a lot of anime fans of Hisoka from HxH, Roswaal also has the ability to switch it up into something more sinister. This is where he shines, as he is a lot more than meets the eye. He is actually centuries old, and the deeper people get into the Re:Zero story, the more enigmatic Roswaal gets.

Wherever there is an isekai list, Rudeus has a tendency to be on it, considering he is a main character in one of the best isekai to come out in the last decade. Rudeus is a mage with spectacular abilities and can hold his own against the best of the best. Yet, it is the humanity and relatability Rudeus shows as a person that has made him popular with fans.

Rudeus is the example of someone who got it all wrong initially but is determined to be a better person and he does exactly that. Yes, he is still a pervert, but he is well-written to show a lot of vulnerability and nuance that make his less palatable sides more human.

Shiroe is the main protagonist of Log Horizon and the leader of the Log Horizon guild. He is a fascinating character as he is one of those characters that is a youth rather than a teenager. This means Shiroe has different sensibilities as opposed to the more common teenage isekai protagonists.

Shiroe is a refreshing character as he isn’t typically one to stand out, but his genius and dedication to the game is relatable to those who pour themselves into a particular game. Shiroe also isn’t lewd in anyway and is portrayed as a gentleman, albeit a socially awkward one.
