Guild Wars 2 has many options for players that are looking to farm much-needed gold. The World Boss Train is a great and fun way to travel around the map, and join hundreds of players in massive boss fights to get a good amount of gold and resources.
There are many tools online to track the current active boss, as well as their general order and schedule. A player can join the battle at any time, as long as they deal damage to the boss they will get a reward, but the Medal for contribution will depend on how much they helped.
10 Great Jungle Wurm
-
Location: Wychmire Swamp in the Caledon Forest
- Waypoint: [&BEEFAAA=]
The Great Jungle Wurm is a straightforward boss fight, with not too many stages or mechanics. In itself it is an interesting spin on the famous Giant Worm that has appeared in many games and movies, mixing it with a nature theme to create a massive, flesh-eating flower.
It is conveniently close to the Waypoint, which is always nice, especially for players that tend to come just a bit late. The loot, as with all lower-level Bosses, is upscaled for higher-level players, consisting of 2 gold and its own World Boss chest, which contains a lot of resources and a chance for its unique skins and items.
9 Admiral Taidha Covington
-
Location: Laughing Gull Island in the Bloodtide Coast
- Waypoint: [&BKgBAAA=]
This mighty Admiral is a rather fun WB, for many reasons. First, some of the battle happens on a rather normal-sized ship, which means that at times dozens and dozens of players will cram into small corridors, and eventually fight her in a tiny room, leading to heaps of unmitigated chaos.
Secondly, it is a very dynamic boss that has multiple phases, requiring players to put in some amount of teamwork and coordination to defeat. The rewards are a good amount of end-game resources that can be turned into gold.
8 Fire Elemental
-
Location: Thaumanova Reactor in the Metrica Province
- Waypoint: [&BEcAAAA=]
The Fire Elemental WB appears after the corresponding Dynamic Event is finished, where players have to escort the C.L.E.A.N. 5000 golem to its destination. As far as the fight goes, it is a very stationary boss that is quite easy to hit, for both melee and ranged players.
The defeat of the boss yields its daily Chest of gold and materials. Players can also open a bonus level if they have the Matrix Cube Key, with an additional miniboss and an extra chest. As long as one player uses the key, every other player can join in, as long as they hurry.
7 Megadestroyer
-
Location: Maelstrom's Bile on the Mount Maelstrom
- Waypoint: [&BM0CAAA=]
The Megadestroyer is a challenging boss encounter in Guild Wars 2, featuring a colossal lava demon with dynamic mechanics. The battle takes place in a shifting volcanic environment, with occasional lava rocks falling from the ceiling. The boss's attacks are relatively easy to dodge, but it is difficult to hit it in melee.
The boss has 2 phases, disappearing underneath the lava and summoning elite minions to fight in its stead after the first one. The daily reward consists of gold and materials, as well as unidentified item bags.
6 Inquest Golem Mark 2
-
Location: Whitland Flats on the Mount Maelstrom
- Waypoint: [&BNQCAAA=]
Golem Mark 2 is an intriguing and unique boss encounter that challenges players with its mechanical prowess, oftentimes leaving the careless characters Downed on the side. The Golems' attacks are dangerous and diverse, requiring careful positioning and movement. From laser beams and missile barrages to electrified floors, players must be quick to react and avoid damage.
The fight demands a combination of defensive maneuvers and offensive rotations, making it a test of both survivability and damage output. Should the players succeed, they are rewarded with the Boss’s unique chest and rewards.
5 Karka Queen
-
Location: Driftglass Springs in the Southsun Cove
- Waypoint: [&BNUGAAA=]
The Karka Queen, a colossal crustacean queen, will absolutely flatten some players by literally rolling over them. It is a rather fast-paced boss fight, with many attacks to dodge and smaller enemies to take care of. Players must work together to bring down its near-indestructible shell, to reveal the inner squishy monster.
The Karka Queen offers a valuable chest, including rare loot and unique achievements, making it a challenging and rewarding encounter for players seeking an epic boss fight. As a tip, watch out for when she tucks in and begins to roll, as getting hit by that will immediately down any character.
4 The Shatterer
-
Location: Lowland Burns in the Blazeridge Steppes
- Waypoint: [&BE4DAAA=]
The Shatterer is a massive, purple dragon made of huge glowing crystals. The players must unite in a small-scale war against it, utilizing the nearby launchpads, turrets, and mortars. Players must attack the Shatterer, as well as break his CC bar during his multiple phases, and on top of that there are many mobs and occasional crystals that need to be destroyed.
It is a great cinematic boss fight that really puts into perspective the size and impact of such a creature against regular mortals.
3 Shadow Behemoth
-
Location: Godslost Swamp in Queensdale
- Waypoint: [&BPcAAAA=]
The Shadow Behemoth was the first encountered World Boss for many players, especially those who started in the Human region. It is a massive demonic being made of shadow that players need to banish back to its dark origins.
Players need to attack its head once it becomes vulnerable and destroy the smaller portals that appear around it. As always, if someone isn’t too sure about what to do, they can always follow the crowd and simply help where they can. Although this particular boss should pose no problem, especially since it is located in a lower level area.
2 Claw Of Jormag
-
Location: Earthshake Basin in the Frostgorge Sound
- Waypoint: [&BHoCAAA=]
Claw of Jormag is a massive ice dragon that can easily freeze and destroy players that disregard proper positioning. With three major phases, it takes a lot of coordinated players to bring down its defenses and deal with the power crystals and minions, or they risk getting wiped out by the monster.
This is one of the biggest World Boss battles, with players needing to divide themselves into respective groups, utilize the canons, and stack together to survive. The rewards can be amazing, with Claw of Jormag’s unique chest being one of the most valuable among other World Bosses.
1 Tequatl The Sunless
-
Location: Splintered Coast in the Sparkfly Fen
- Waypoint: [&BNABAAA=]
Tequatl The Sunless is an undead dragon that terrorizes the Splintered Coast. This chain of events can easily fail if not enough people show up to the boss, or if the present players disregard the crucial mechanics and requirements. Aside from dealing damage while dodging its powerful attacks, the players must defend the batteries of the massive Canon as it charges, or the fight becomes infinitely more difficult.
Tequatl has arguably the best unique chest, with very rare items and a chance to drop Ascended level weapons and armor. It is suggested to come to the location at least 5–10 minutes ahead of time, to ensure a full and successful map.
