BIoShock Infinite is arguably the best installment of the BioShock franchise, as it leaves the underwater city of Rapture behind and takes the action sky-high, to the utopic, beautiful city of Columbia. While weapon Upgrade Stations have been available since the first installment of this franchise, they take on a different form in BioShock Infinite.

How Long Does BioShock Infinite Take to Beat?

In a departure from the familiar Rapture, BioShock Infinite players are going to spend hours scouring the city of Columbia during the story.

Ensuring that your weapons are always upgraded and as powerful as possible will make your life considerably easier, as dealing with enemies won't be as tough, and Booker's chances of survival will be much greater. Here's how you can upgrade your weapons in BioShock Infinite.

How To Upgrade Weapons In BioShock Infinite

Upgrading weapons in BioShock Infinite is fairly simple. All you have to do is find a Minuteman’s Armory Vending Machine and access it to see the available upgrades for the weapons that you're carrying. Minuteman’s Armory Vending Machines are spread throughout Columbia, and finding them should not be too difficult if you're exploring enough and progressing through the story as intended.

Depending on the weapon you're carrying and which one you want to upgrade, you might have to pay more or less money. That said, upgrades are never cheap, so you'll have to search several bodies and try to find as much money as you can to afford them. Through these vending machines, you can gain damage and accuracy boosts, clip and reload increases, recoil decreases, and much more.

Minuteman's Armory Vending Machines, along with the various Infusions spread throughout Columbia, are probably the most valuable things you'll encounter, as they will not only allow Booker to have more powerful weapons, but also more Health, Salts, or Shield Capacity.

In BioShock 2, players can power-up Subject Delta's weapons using 14 upgrade stations that are found through Rapture over the course of the game.

The Best Weapons To Upgrade in BioShock Infinite

With the wide arsenal at your disposal in BioShock Infinite, you might be wondering which weapons are best to upgrade early in the game. While each weapon has its own set of advantages and disadvantages, the Sniper Rifle, Shotgun, Hand Cannon, and Carbine are arguably the ones you’ll want to focus on the most.

Although weapons like the Machine Gun are very effective at dealing with large groups of enemies, given their high rate of fire, you're likely to run out of ammo sooner or later, even with Elizabeth finding more for you during a firefight. This isn't the case with the Sniper Rifle, Carbine, Shotgun, or Hand Cannon, as they fire more slowly, giving you more time to find ammo, and forcing you to place your shots more wisely.
