The quest to dismantle the Timekeeper's grip on Kairos is going to take a while, and during the A Lot to Process quest in Borderlands 4, players will be hot on the trail of an Order scientist who can help make the whole revolution thing go by a little more smoothly and a little less impossible.
This quest is a bit lengthy with its numerous combat encounters and long driving sections, and if you're particularly unlucky, your progress might get halted by a pesky bug. In this Borderlands 4 guide, we'll be covering the A Lot to Process quest, including all of its important quest steps, fixes for potential issues, and other noteworthy info.

Borderlands 4: A Lot to Process Walkthrough
After shooting Idolator Sol's spymaster in the face, players will then need to get intel on the local tyrant's plans involving a bioweapon of sorts. Rush and Conway of the Outbounders will tell you about an Order scientist in the nearby woods, and they'll ask you to try and get them on your side.
Go toward the first objective marker, and you'll find yourself infront of a house in the middle of nowhere. To open the door, head toward the nearby shack, break the obstacles blocking one of its windows, then shoot the generator inside. This will cause multiple windows at the front of the house to open, revealing some turrets that will light you up immediately. Destroy the turrets, then make your way through the house.
Inside, you'll meet Zadra, the Order scientist Conway and Rush mentioned. Unfortunately, she's not a vampire, but she does know a lot of Order stuff. She'll get captured as soon as her intro cutscene ends, and now it's up to you to save her. Blast the Order goons outside, then follow the next quest marker to the far side of the Fadefields.
The Processing Plant
The quest will lead you to a processing plant where the Order is rounding up Wildhorns for research. There's gonna be a ton of Synths and soldiers here, but your job here boils down to the following:
- Follow the Wildhorns inside the facility.
- Modify the shower controls.
- Stand in the Wildhorn shower and bathe yourself in blood.
- Reach the Wildhorn scanner at the end of the processing track.
- Find and rescue Zadra inside the facility.
One of the Fadefields Vault Symbols is inside Zadra's holding cell in the facility. Make sure to tag it!
Borderlands 4: A Lot to Process Quest Bug
Many players have reported a bug that prevents Zadra from opening the way forward after breaking her out. If this happens to you, try the following:
- Search the entire area for stragglers. Some enemies may have gotten stuck inside their spawn rooms.
- Blow yourself up to force a checkpoint restart.
Some enemies tend to get lost inside this combat arena. In our case, an Armature got lost for so long that it lost aggro, which caused the combat compass to go from red to yellow and giving the illusion that the area was clear (it wasn't).
Borderlands 4 Oppressor Boss Fight
Once you reach the top of the facility, you'll need to fight more Order troops and find some spare parts to get the teleporter working. Blast the Order goons away, then pick up the parts that they drop. Enemies will stop spawning once you get all the parts, and Zadra will tell you to place the parts in the teleporter terminal.
The teleporter will fizzle out after it teleports Zadra away, leaving you alone with more Order forces and the Oppressor, a flying gunship that acts as the quest's boss. It'll bombard you with all sorts of munitions while it's airborne. Do your best to avoid getting killed, and shoot it until it falls to the ground.
After this mission, you can return to this spot and farm the Oppressor for a shot at getting legendary items.
Find Zadra (Again)
A big door will open up after you destroy the Oppressor, and it will lead you back to the processing plant's main entrance. Open the red chest near the exit, then use your Digirunner to soar away.
After that, just follow your quest marker to Zadra's Backup Plan, an underground safehouse protected by traps and vicious fauna. Inside the safehouse is Zadra, who will give you some additional info about how to take out the Timekeeper as well as intel on who the Timekeeper's trusted lieutenants are.
Zadra has a lot to say here, but once she's said enough, the quest will be complete. From hereon, the majority of Kairos will be open to you. We do recommend finishing Idolator Sol off first before heading to either Carcadia Burn or Terminus Range, and after that, take some time to complete some side quests or complete activities in the Fadefields before moving on.
Don't rush the campaign. You'll eventually reach a point where enemies are over five levels stronger than you. Opening Vaults in Borderlands 4 is a great side activity to do, as not only will it net you XP and loot, but you'll also get upgrades for your Glider once you finish them.
