Black Clover’s Anime Is Officially Returning

Announcement Came Around Anime Expo 2025

Last week, the biggest reveal for fans of the Black Clover series happened. Out of absolutely nowhere, it was revealed that the Black Clover anime would finally resume.

The Black Clover anime went on a long hiatus all the way back in 2021. But now, it’s official that this widely beloved anime is finally returning after a massive break. This was officially announced during this year’s anime expo, specifically in Crunchyroll’s industry panel.

Crunchyroll even released a small teaser for fans, and it’s definitely worth a watch here:

This is major, and many fans are now waiting for the impending return of Black Clover. So far, however, there is no official release date, as this is still a work in progress, after all. Hopefully, more news will come out soon concerning this big return.

With such big news for Black Clover, fans are now wondering if it has any ramifications for the Boruto series.

Boruto Fans Are Hopeful For An Anime Return

Boruto Has Been On A Hiatus Since 2023

Both Anime Share The Same Studio

Black Clover isn’t the only big anime series that went on an unexpected hiatus. Just like Black Clover, Boruto also went on break a few years ago. In Boruto’s case, that was in 2023, or 2 years ago.

Black Clover’s return has definitely fueled some hope for Boruto fans when it comes to an anime return. After all, both Black Clover and Boruto are animated by the same studio, Studio Pierrot.

Studio Pierrot’s own website once stated that “A second part has been confirmed!” In regards to Boruto.

But, since that small statement, nothing else has been said in regards to the anime's return. Boruto also didn't have anything during this year’s Anime Expo. The Boruto anime will definitely return eventually, but it might take more time. It’s not impossible that next year, there could be an announcement, or maybe even during Jump Festa, in December.

Black Clover Season 5: What to Expect

The Black Clover anime is returning, but what should fans expect from it?

When the Boruto anime does return, many hope that Studio Pierrot will fix the glaring issues the anime had that made it go on a hiatus in the first place. Both Boruto and Black Clover would greatly benefit from being switched to a seasonal schedule.

Where To Watch Black Clover and Boruto?

Both are Available on Crunchyroll

The Black Clover series, despite its long hiatus, still has many episodes out for the fans to enjoy. Right now, the anime has 170 episodes to catch up on or to rewatch while fans await the continuation of the anime. All these episodes can be found and streamed on Crunchyroll, the biggest anime platform in the world. Black Clover's upcoming season will also be available on Crunchyroll once it is released.
