As another year begins to draw to a close, Black Friday waits around the corner, giving consumers one of the last big sales of the year. Over the years, Black Friday has become huge for gamers, as it can be one of the best times to get solid discounts on consoles, games, and even accessories, and retailers are starting to roll out their deals.
As the month of November continues, there are bound to be more sales announcements, as a lot of the big-name stores will often keep some of the biggest deals under wraps until closer to the launch date. However, there are already a lot of confirmed discounts waiting in the wings, and based on last year's deals, there are bound to be some repeats, as well. Black Friday leaks have also offered some exciting hints about what to expect, and for those curious about which deals to be on the lookout for, this is what's known so far about November's growing list of sales.
This year, Black Friday is officially on November 28, but there are plenty of early sales before then.
Keep These in Mind: PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Deals on Black Friday
PlayStation Deals Are Already Being Confirmed
For those who have yet to make the transition from the PS4 to the PS5, this year may be the moment to do so. Recent leaks from notable Dealabs insider Billbil-kun claim that the PS5 slim model with 1TB of storage may be marked down by $100 USD. Between this leak and confirmed discounts from other retailers, it's likely that most PS5 discounts found this Black Friday will be around $100-120 off.
After Sony increased the prices of its PS5 models earlier this year, Black Friday may be one of the few times that guarantees a decent price cut. The current generation of consoles has continued to rise in price, so November's sales will definitely be a great opportunity for a lot of gamers to finally transition from their older-gen consoles.
Xbox's Year of Highs and Lows Raises Questions About Black Friday Deals
It's been a strange year for Xbox and Microsoft. While the company has had a lot of success with the ROG Xbox Ally, controversies like Game Pass' shocking price increase and various game cancellations have ignited backlash. The Xbox Series X/S has also been subject to price hikes recently, so when it comes to Black Friday price cuts, it may not feel like a monumental discount, but it would be surprising if there wasn't at least some kind of deal. Last year, the Xbox Series X/S was $50 off, with controllers being $10 off, and Xbox Design Lab also offered free engraving. Beyond that, specific game purchases also came with a $5 promotional Xbox gift card, so it's possible that Microsoft will take a similar approach to Black Friday this year.
Nintendo is Bound to Stick to its Guns
Over the years, Nintendo and Black Friday have rarely mixed, at least when it comes to consoles and first-party titles. Third-party games are bound to get significant discounts, but for those crossing their fingers that the Switch 2 will get a price cut, it's highly unlikely. So, although the Switch 2 and first-party games are probably going to stay locked at their current price points, Black Friday could be a great opportunity to get some strong third-party deals.
The Biggest Video Game Black Friday Deals
Traditionally, older games are the most likely to get the most significant price cuts, and this trend is bound to continue this year. Games like Hogwarts Legacy, Elden Ring, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth have received significant discounts in the past, but there have already been several 2025 releases that have seen their prices lowered, making them more likely to be choices for Black Friday price cuts.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is likely to be a Black Friday choice, since Ubisoft is well-known for discounting its games often. The Sims 4 has several big yearly sales, with Black Friday being one of the best times to get great deals on expansions. Last year, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 were some of the biggest discounts, and considering the popularity of the two, it's likely they will be included again. A lot of 2025 releases have yet to be confirmed for Black Friday, but it's definitely possible that some of the year's biggest titles will be discounted in some way.
