There are more than 15 bosses in Black Myth: Wukong's Flaming Mountains, the location at the center of Chapter 5. While it is not mandatory that players fight all these bosses, fans who want to complete the in-game Journal must do so. For those players who are interested in securing Journal entries, this guide will assist with that endeavor by detailing the location of every boss in Black Myth: Wukong's fifth chapter.
The majority of the bosses in Chapter 5 appear along the critical path, and Black Myth: Wukong players are guaranteed to encounter them as they work to complete the level. The exceptions are the Flint Chief, Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai, Flint Vanguard, Mother of Flamlings, Rusty-Gold Cart, Baw-Lang-lang, Top Takes Bottom & Bottom Takes Top, and Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast.

Black Myth Wukong: Woods of Ember Boss Locations
Pale-Axe Stalwart (Character)
Players will battle the Pale-Axe Stalwart in an arena just beyond the Ashen Pass I Keeper's Shrine.
Brown-Iron Cart (Chief)
The Brown-Iron Cart is at the top of a flight of stairs that action game fans will use to exit the Pale-Axe Stalwart's arena.
Father of Stones (Chief)
Players will run into this Yaoguai Chief after passing the Height of Ember Keeper's Shrine.
Gray-Bronze Cart (Chief)
After defeating the Father of Stones, players will pass through a gate and descend into a cave. Fans of games inspired by Chinese mythology will find themselves in a stone corridor upon exiting that cave, and the Gray-Bronze Cart is within it.
Quick as Fire, Fast as Wind (Chief)
Players will fight these bosses as they follow the path beyond the Gray-Bronze Cart.
Black Myth Wukong: Furnace Valley Boss Locations
Flint Chief (Chief)
Players who want to fight the Flint Chief should make their way to the Valley Entrance Keeper's Shrine, equip Black Myth: Wukong's Fireproof Mantle, and follow this path:
- Follow the path beyond the Keeper's Shrine to reach a large stone arch.
- Pass under the arch, and fall from the left side of the cliff.
- Turn left, and attack the rocks.
There is a cart with a string that can be pulled stuck in the lava-filled area before the Flint Chief. That cart is connected to Horse Guai's quest, and players should not pull its string until they have spoken with that character in all the preceding levels.
Cloudy Mist, Misty Cloud (Chief)
This is a mandatory boss fight that players will encounter as they follow the path beyond the Valley Entrance Keeper's Shrine.
Keeper of Flaming Mountains / Yin-Yang Fish (King)
The fight with these bosses occurs in an arena just past the Emerald Hall Keeper's Shrine.
Crimson-Silver Cart (Chief)
After defeating the Yin-Yang Fish, players should continue along the path to find this Yaoguai Chief.
Black Myth Wukong: Field of Fire Boss Locations
Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai
While there is no Journal entry for this enemy, it has a boss-style heatlh bar and is thus included in this guide. To find the Nine-Capped Lingzhi Guai, players should make their way to the Ashen Pass III Keeper's Shrine, enter the area to the right of the checkpoint, and gather the mushrooms that are found there.
Flint Vanguard (Chief)
Once players reach the Fallen Furnace Crater Keeper's Shrine, they should backtrack down the slope, keeping their eyes on the left side of the path. Indeed, the metal ball that action RPG fans have been avoiding cleared a path on that side, and it leads to an arena with some large glowing stones. Attacking those objects will initiate a fight with the Flint Vanguard.
Mother of Flamlings (Chief)
After beating the Flint Vanguard, players should exit its arena via the back-right corner and follow the path to enter yet another open area. There is a glowing spot on the ground in this second arena, and fans of games with RPG elements should deliver four Flame Ore to it to summon the Mother of Flamlings.
Players can earn Flame Ore by dispatching the Lesser Yaoguai in the Mother of Flamlings' arena.
Rusty-Gold Cart (Chief)
This Yaoguai Chief is just past the Cooling Slope Keeper's Shrine, which is accessed by exiting the Mother of Flamlings' arena via the back-right corner and following the path. Before visiting the Rusty-Gold Cart, players should follow this guide to completing the Five Element Carts quest in Black Myth: Wukong.
Baw-Lang-lang (Chief)
After completing the Five Element Carts quest, and opening the ice wall in Rusty-Gold Cart's arena, players should return to the Cooling Slope Keeper's Shrine. Fans should then pass through the opening where the ice wall stood, descend the ramp, and enter the water on the left to find Baw-Lang-lang.
Red Boy & Yakasha King (King)
These are the final bosses in Chapter 5, and players will find them in the arena beyond the Fallen Furnace Crater Keeper's Shrine.
Black Myth Wukong: Bishui Cave Boss Locations
Players should use the aforementioned guide to completing the Five Element Carts quest in Black Myth: Wukong to gain access to this secret area.
Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top (Chief)
Players will fight this pair of bosses in an arena just beyond the Purge Pit Keeper's Shrine.
Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast (King)
This Yaoguai King is in the arena past the Corridor of Fire and Ice Keeper's Shrine, the final checkpoint in Bishui Cave.
