In Black Myth: Wukong, certain materials can only drop from specific enemies. The drop rate for some of these materials can be pretty low, forcing the player to spend hours trying to defeat a single enemy repeatedly. There is no way to eliminate the grind, but players can acquire equipment to boost their item discovery, shortening the hunt for the drops.
That said, players will still have to progress and reach halfway through the game before acquiring the first of the two equipment pieces. The guide below includes the location of the
Golden Carp (Curio) and
Skull of Turtle Treasure (Headgear) in the game.
Black Myth: Wukong — All Transformations, Ranked
Black Myth: Wukong features a total of ten transformation spells, each offering unique strengths and weaknesses.
How To Get The Golden Carp
Golden Carp is a Curio that drops from a boss in the fourth chapter of Webbed Hollow. First, you must reach the Cliff of Oblivion and defeat Buddha's Right Hand boss. After the fight, cross the bridge, drop down on the right side twice, and follow the path until you reach a point with a path on each side. Head left, cross the rope bridge, and go past the hanging cocoons.
You can use the Cloud Step Spell to make it to the other side of the narrow ramp; otherwise, the Cocoons will keep attacking you.
Once outside the caves, keep following the path on the left, and soon, you will come across the Relief of the Fallen Loong Keepers' Shrine. Ahead of the Shrine, you can find a small open area where a cinematic will play out, and you can face the Yellow Loong boss. Taking down the Yellow Loong will be no easy feat, but once you are successful, you will obtain the following rewards:
Black Myth: Wukong - Venom Daoist Quest Guide (How To Reach Chapter 4 Secret Area)
Players need to complete Venom Daoist quest to reach Purple Cloud Mountain secret area in Black Myth: Wukong.
How To Get Skull Of Turtle Treasure
Despite being equipment that increases the chance of material drops, the
Skull of Turtle Treasure itself is a headgear that has a chance to drop from a certain Lesser Yaoguai. The earliest you can acquire this is during the third chapter after reaching the Longevity Road in Valley of Ecstasy. From the Keeper's Shrine, head towards the statues and head left until you reach a wooden Tori gate. Go past it, and as you approach another Tori gate, you can spot a Turtle Treasure enemy to your right.
Defeat this enemy to see if he drops the Headgear. If not, you can use the Incense Trail Talisman to teleport back to the Shrine and try again.
