What Is The Gold Ridge Beast For?

While the Gold Ridge Beast’s appearance and lore suggest a connection to ancient civilizations or mythical creatures, it doesn't directly enhance the player's abilities or provide any in-game benefits. It's more of a collectible item that you can keep or exchange for something more valuable.

The only way to cash in on the Gold Ridge Beast is to sell it at a Keeper's Shrine for 6,000 Will. Will is Black Myth: Wukong’s basic currency that is used to purchase new items and medicines from the Shrine stores. If you’re running low on Will, selling a Gold Ridge Beast statue can be a quick way to boost your funds.

How To Get The Gold Ridge Beast in Black Myth: Wukong

There are actually two ways you can get the Gold Ridge Beast statue in Black Myth: Wukong. The first one involves buying it from the Man-In-Stone, an enemy encountered in Chapter 2. If you complete the Man-In-Stone’s side quest and defeat him in a mini-boss encounter, he will reward you with the Azure Dust transformation spell and become a merchant.

The Man-In-Stone will then sell a Gold Ridge Beast statue for 12,800 Will. However, this purchase is a trap set by this defeated boss to get one final laugh at the Destined One. Buying the Gold Ridge Beast statue will result in a net loss of 6,800 Will, which is why it is not recommended to buy the Gold Ridge Beast.

Instead, you can get a Gold Ridge Beast for free simply by exploring the far side of the Secret: Kingdom of Sahali near the Sandgate Bound Shrine in Yellow Wind Ridge. From the Shrine, turn left, and you will come across a building with a chest that contains this valuable statue. Given the amount of Will you get in exchange for a Gold Ridge Beast statue, this item is worth the effort of seeking it out.
