After progressing through the game and defeating Venom Daiost for the second time, players can access the secret area in the fourth chapter, Purple Cloud Mountain. The Duskveil boss is located at the end of this secret area and rewards the players with a Vessel that is extremely useful in the fight with the final boss of the fourth chapter.

The Scoprionlord is a boss in Purple Cloud Mountain who, if not defeated before The Duskveil, helps the player during the first phase of the fight. If players fail to beat it on the first try, they will be disappointed that Scorpionlord does not reappear to help.

How to Find The Duskveil

After reaching the secret area, players must make their way to the last Keeper's Shrine in the area, Cloudnest Peak. This Keeper's Shrine is a small distance from where you find Daoist Mi for his quest. From Cloudnest Peak, head straight up the stairs to trigger a cutscene for the Duskveil boss fight.

Fighting The Duskveil boss first means you will miss out on the fight against Daoist Mi and The Scorpionlord. Both bosses drop valuable items like a Transformation, a Chest piece, and a Gourd.

The first phase of the boss fight is pretty basic, with the boss being passive most of the time and only stomping you with its feet. The boss has a ranged attack where it sends out what seems like bones at you. These are easy to dodge by rolling in towards the boss. It would be best to look out for the attack where Duskveil leaps up in the air and spins around, attacking multiple times before landing on the ground.

When the boss is low in health, it will start charging at you several times before falling to the ground. The dodge timings on these charges are relatively easy, and you can dash in after the final charge to get a lot of damage in while it's lying on the ground. Once you take out the boss's first health bar, a cutscene will trigger the second phase.

Do not forget that the game provides the option to craft Medicine, which grants a damage bonus and boosts your defense, making fights like the Duskveil much easier.

Spirits can alter the outcome of a fight with their abilities, so Black Myth: Wukong players should always equip the best ones.

The Duskveil's Second Phase

The second phase of the fight is where the boss fight really amps up. The boss adds many different attacks into its arsenal, such as the red beaming projectile that it shoots out from the weapon it is holding. Another projectile attack starts with the Duskveil screaming and backing up to shoot multiple bone shards at you. It then flies up and follows the attack with more bone shards, which act as homing projectiles at your location.

The Bone Knife combo is what you should look out for at all costs. This attack starts with the boss taking out the weapon from its mouth and spinning its whole body around for two swings at you. This is followed up by the boss leaping into the air, throwing the knife on the ground, and landing on it to do an area attack momentarily. If you can get the timings right of the dodge, you can stay close; otherwise, it is advised to run away when the boss leaps up.

An attack that players might get confused about is when it breathes out a cloud of red dust. This cloud persists for a few seconds and does lingering damage as long as you stay inside it. Under no circumstances should you fight the boss in the cloud, as you will lose your entire health bar in mere seconds. Your attacks might be missed sometimes because the hitbox on the leg is pretty small, and this problem usually occurs when using the Chu Bai Spear. If this happens to you, try switching to the Kang-Jin Staff, which deals Thunder damage upon executing a Punishing Downpour.

The Duskveil Rewards

After defeating The Duskveil, you can watch a cutscene, after which you will be teleported outside the Purple Cloud Mountain, and you will get the following rewards:
