Spirits in Black Myth: Wukong are beasts that players have defeated before and have come to aid them in battle. The Destined One will be allowed to summon a specific beast for a few seconds and execute a powerful move that will help in any boss fight.
Similar to equipment and armor in Black Myth: Wukong, spirits can be leveled up and upgraded to deal more damage or to consume less Qi. However, you do need to collect the required materials as well as the necessary amount of Will.

How To Upgrade Spirits In Black Myth: Wukong
Upgrading spirits in Black Myth: Wukong occurs at any Keeper’s Shrine. Simply head to the Self-Advance section and choose the Cultivate Spirits option. Next, pick the desired spirit and start upgrading it. The first upgrade for any spirit will only require Will, so it’s technically free. But, once you begin to advance more in leveling up, the spirits start to need other materials in addition to Will.
Some materials can only be obtained from certain bosses, while others are inside a coffin-like chest or a container found through exploration. Some items will be harder to get than others as each one possesses its own rarity. Once everything necessary is gathered, head to the Keeper’s Shrine and start leveling up.
Will is the easiest material to farm as it is considered the currency in the game. The normal farming method is through defeating enemies and fighting bosses. Other methods involve finding items that can be exchanged for Will at the store. It’s also possible to catch green flames scattered around the areas or destroy pots and statues to earn more Will.
How To Use Spirits In Black Myth: Wukong
Spirits are used in battles for only a few seconds, dealing damage before disappearing. To summon them, you must have Qi, which is acquired upon hitting enemies. Once the meter is full, summoning the spirit will spend all the collected Qi and you need to collect it again to use the spirits.
Resting at a Keeper’s Shrine will automatically fill up the Qi meter. However, if players change their spirit mid-exploration, they will start with an empty Qi meter, so it’s advised to change spirits near a Keeper’s Shrine.
To change spirits, open the menu options and go to the Equipment section. Here, you will find everything equipped to the Destined One. Move to the spirits category and press on it to find all the caught spirits.
